One year ago I built a new PC for $1100. I can run games like Hogwarts Legacy and Star Wars Outlaws at maxed video quality and high ray tracing and never drop below 60 fps. You just need to shop around for parts. And be careful of scams.

If there was a trade in price where you would just pay an additional 250 or 300 I think its possible. If Wilds doesn't have a stable 60FPS on normal PS5 then Damn. Really will have to just think about getting a PC since Wilds is Crossplay anyways

All these people defending console are crazy... i built my pc for about $1100 in 2020. It was a mid pc back then and i can still run any new game on high settings with 60-144 fps (depending on the game). my point is, consoles come out with a better version like every 3-4 years. At least i can mod my pc and do whatever i want to it for a couple hundred more... i dont even have to worry about a better version of pc coming out because i can choose to add an upgrade any time i want. I'd rather that than replacing the whole thing for the new pro version after 4 years.

If you spend a decent amount of time playing games, the extra money isn't that big of a deal. It's like complaining that running shoes are more expensive than cheap shoes... but if you're a runner then you get running shoes for running. It's a myopic mindset to constantly screw yourself over to save a couple bucks. If that difference is that expensive for you, then you have larger financial problems and gaming should be the least of your worries.

Also, you're nowhere near PC prices... unless you think $700 is close to $2000 for a PC to get equivalent performance.

In fairness the ps5 is smooth and easy to just pick up and play in the livingroom - to get 4K 60fps is basically a decent pc territory and to get that on the livingroom without all the launcher and windows bs is worth it to me. Trade in ps5 and upgrade 😮

Was gonna trade my base ps5 against the pro in the hopes that adding maybe 200 euro to it will be all it took to buy the pro and thus continue to buy my physical ps5 games on the pro and of course play the Monster Hunter Wilds at a lovely 60fps but Hell no. Ill just stick with my base ps5 for the less demanding games like shin megami tensei 5 or lies of P or any others that stick to 60fps. Ill get wilds on pc. This will be the first monster hunter I dont own physically :(

Mind you that the standard ps5 digital is 400$ USD and the pro is 700$ USD very big difference… especially to play 4 to 5 year old games at 60 frames is crazy

£250 for whats essentialy turnin on framegeneration on a PC. NO. Also wilds is cross plat so me and my friends can recreate our 3000+ hour experiance we had in worlds even if ive moved on to PC, well still be able to play together atleast.
