Literal war crimes restored in color. No need for euphemisms, or code, and no lack of documentation. Actually proud of it. Disgusting.
ОтветитьIncrease the frame rate and this video would be perfect
ОтветитьMen in my father’s extended family have been ambassadors, congressmen, and one was a member of Teddy Roosevelt’s cabinet. But the one that really makes me proud was a B-17 pilot with the 8th Air Force. He was one of the lucky ones - 25 missions completed and he and his crew returned home safely.
ОтветитьAllied war crimes.
ОтветитьRespect isn't a big enough word.🇬🇧
ОтветитьMy old man was 100 percent total disabled what for look at this country today

ОтветитьI swear those are some of the most bravest men on the face of the earth. Could never imagine the unparalleled fear of what could happen on a mission. Respect and prayers 🙏
Ответитьgreat video. Brave men .
Ответить"Old Bill" came back from that raid with the nose shot away by flak. The aircraft which bounced on landing was brought back by a mortally wounded Captain, who died shortly afterwards. Purple Hearts for all personnel wounded and dead. Robert Morgan flew his Memphis Belle around the field to celebrate the 25th and last mission of his crew. He went on to fly B29's over Japan, and survived the war. Nobody today could imagine the horrors those men endured, and the haunting memories they carried with them ever afterwards. They wanted a life of peace, but they went through hell. And we are here because of them. Remember that.
ОтветитьImagine you've flown 21 of your 22 mission. The time comes to fly your last and final bombing mission and you end up getting sick and as a result have to miss your last mission with your crew and now have no choice but to fly your last and final mission with a rookie flight crew who you have to continuesly keep reminding to stay in formation, and then, by the grace of God, you look out your window just in time see the runway come into view. Then after you breathe that sign of relief that you accomplished you last and final bombing mission and you can now go home, and just about that time you look out and sitting out there on the black top runway is you original flight group sweating out your mission, anxiously waiting your return. That was my Uncle Dick. He the navigator for the 390th and the 17th bomb group, and is (if I am not mistaken) one of the only if not the only B-17 flight Navigators who was credited with a kill for shooting down a nazi fighter pilot during WW2.
The audio/soundtrack really hits me in this video. The few mins of music as the bombs hit their targets and the muffled radio talk comes in as bombers fall from the skies gives me the absolute chills. I was only 8 and in the uk when the 1990 film Memphis Belle came out and I was hooked on the WW11 air war from the first watch. I watched that movie most days for years. This was a time long before we had the internet etc and any real ability to learn the historical facts about the eighth and what they endured. There’s not much that I haven’t read or seen since then and with the fact we can now read and watch the real truth from a device in our hands we have a real duty now to show the young boys and girls of today more than could have ever been shown to me. With the fact that these were essentially kids on both sides that were fighting this air war and depicted in this video to me just boggles my mind. Great video/upload and humbling to say the least.
ОтветитьThe US B17 bomber has all the might to defend itself in battle , immagined how manay 50 cal. machine gun implanted all over the body from the front , belly , top , tail what else ?
ОтветитьMy grandfather flew in a B-17. He was a gunner. He flew over 50 combat missions bombing Germany. He earned 2 Purple Hearts and a bronze star at least. He said the Germans were the best fighters in the world. I believe it was Warsaw that he was bombing which made him pray the hardest.
I remember asking him if he was scared and he said “You’re goddamn right I was, if anyone said they weren’t they were liars.”
Carpett bombing in Europe !
Ответитьgreat movie. but it's even more interesting to read the comments. I didn't think that these shots would cause such a lively response from modern people. you can shoot the second series of this movie)))))
Ответитьアメ公めが、原爆使用の罪を永遠に負いやがれ。
神の罰を永遠に。
That's why they're called the greatest generation. 18 year old boys who grew up too fast.
ОтветитьLet us all learn from history. Let us not repeat this. Look to peace. 🙏 ✝️
ОтветитьDeath From Above ☠️
ОтветитьDuring WW2 the average life expectancy of a fighter pilot was 5days...the average life expectancy of a bomber crew was 5weeks , and yet thay went up day after night..thay are truly deserving of being called THE GREATEST GENERATION!!.💕🇺🇸🇺🇦
ОтветитьI know you hillbillies don't care how you watch see the raster on TEEWEE shows, but your aspect ration here is all wrong.
ОтветитьThis is taken from the 1943 film "Memphis Belle" isn't it, the orginal that is not the Hollywood movie? If so the guy in the left hand seat also flew as pilot in the lead plane on the first B29 raid on Tokyo I believe.
Ответитьthose things are tough af
ОтветитьForever Young, all these men in this video are all dead now, but through videos like this, their memories live on and we should never forget the sacrifices these men gave and I want to thank all of them, even though they can't hear me, but in some strange way, I think the big guy upstairs will let them know and I don't want any of you to forget our fathers and grandfathers, I won't and I want to thank all veterans, past and present, along with all family members of the deceased, May the hand of God be with you forever!
ОтветитьThe greatest generation

ОтветитьThe beauty of destruction. Fanatic footage and great background music.
ОтветитьSteel balls
ОтветитьInstead of continuing to Moscow these idiots choose a target of opportunity !
ОтветитьA band of brothers every mans life was in the hands of the man seated or standing next to him the ones that were luckey enough to survive how many missions they were required to complete. And most were teenagers or twentysomething all the veterans of the war what they went through is unemagianable all American servicemen have my deepest sincere appreciation as well as there familys my hope is god opened his arms as they fell from the skies and there pain was extinguished because this was a Nobel endeavor to stop a mad man from causing deth and destruction to so many unfortunate souls. As Winston Churchill eloquently put it never in history have so many owed so much to so few. Think about how devastating there job was after I belive it was 26 missions they were able to go home or ascended to heaven. The attrition rate was not good. A good portion didn't make it.
