everything does heat sometimes. all electronics, stop looking for perfection everywhere. I have the 15 pro max, ipad pro 2022 and just bought the iPad Air 2024 13 inch. The ipad will be fine

New devices and new operating systems tend to be glitchy like this indeed, it does require a few updates to fix up all the bugs and such. Also, every time there's an OS update, the ipad/iphones/macbooks spend a few days doing some background work that uses up more resources, and they tend to be warm the first few days after an update :)) hopes this helps!
