Glock 17: what I WISH I knew earlier…

So my G17 Gen5 has front barrel groves. Does that mean its an aftermarket piece?

Well. For me still Gen 3 is the pik of the Glock generations but Gen 5 is great too. Gen 4... Well. I would rather choose between Gen 3 and Gen 5

Gen 2 Glock 17 had the best trigger.
Gen 5 Glock went back to basically a Gen 2 with no finger grooves and single pin locking block.
Gen 2 and 3 are best Glocks IMO. The triggers were much better than 4/5.

The Gen 5 is hands down the best Gen version yet, I have owned Glocks for many years and they just don't compare to my 5, with that being said I prefer the 5 because I shoot it best. A Glock is a Glock and they all do what they are supposed to with out fail so what version you are most accurate with should be your preferred GEN.

Gen 4, G19 for me.........Austria model ............with beavertail backstrap , Ameriglo sights, shortened mag release and extended slide release ...Works for me !!!!1

I have no complaints about my Gen 5. Reliable and minimalist. Nothing to get in the way of going boom when you need it to.

If you could have only one would it be the Glock 17 or 19?

Way too much stock is placed in the "Gen" than needs to be. I own Glocks (8 at present) and have for almost 25 years. The ONLY mods I do to them is: Night sights and extra mags. Like you said "If it aint broke why try and fix it." Unless you are a comp shooter leave everything else alone. In doing it this way you can transition from one model to another regardless of caliber changes. It works EVERY TIME. It's simple to maintain and easy to use. No frills, No BS. I stake my life on my Glocks.

People think Glock has a bad trigger that's too hard to use? Lmfao wth do they have a rare bone disease and muscular dystrophy or something? They need to start shooting my double Action Revolvers without a spur.

Glock sights are for dim lighting and close ranges. So they work well. On range i would change the sights.

It's not a clip, it's a Magazine. Only hollywood calls it a clip.

The G17 is the pistol is the gun all others are judged by. Say what you will, they always go boom and are easy to get upgrades for. I am looking for a nice police trade in Gen 5 with night sights.

If I was going to war and had to choose 1 handgun, straight out the box?? Give me Glocks please. 9mm, 10mm, .45

Reliability? There are many manufacturers as reliable as Glock or more, and those other guns come with more and better features, and of course looking hot!😉👍
