I'm searching for a new podcast player because Castbox randomly downloaded 53 episodes of podcast I've never heard of or I'm not remotely interested in. This is not the first time this has happened.

Not only is apple podcasts one of the worst podcast apps, it's one of the worst apps hands down.

IMO, these are the "obvious but meh" choices. Except for Pocket Casts, that one's legit. My other picks for Android: Podcast Addict or Castbox. Both have lots of downloads & high ratings.
