The royal greatsword has been my favorite, does a lot of damage to anything, and pvp people usually don't expect the explosion after the jump. If you hit them with the jump and the explosion, most of the time it's a one hit kill

Random fun fact about darkmoon figured this out 40+ hours after getting it. The light beam heavy has 2 settings. If you hold it it charges longer and does more damage but takes longer, whereas if you just touch heavy attack instead of holding it'll come out much faster and does good damage still but not quite as much. Just throwing it out for those who don't know like I didn't

Finally got the game and will probably be basic with Moonveil (wanted to go INT anyway), but will make sure to have enough points to use the Dark Moon and probably the Wing of Astel alongside it.

The chest only holds one wing of Astel, which i have. Is there a way to get a 2nd one somewhere else in one play through? Or do i have to wait til ng+ to get the second one from the same chest?

And I am dual weild it it deletes enemies in pvp

You do know that the AR tooltip for split damage-type weapons is deceptive, right? Because enemy defenses have an additive modifier, and apply separately for each type of damage: you're effectively having your damage reduced multiple times.

Not saying those weapons cannot still be good. Just that relying on the flashy AR damage tooltip isnt the way to gauge them.

On the wing of astel I thought it was a 3 move set . When I hold down RT and tap it, looks like 3

should of given Family Heads and Bastard's Stars flails an honourable mention, they are very good when u need somthing with strike dmg. like clearing out a mine or the annoying blue crystalian bosses or fallen star beast

Wing of Astel combined with a staff with comet azur and I feel like the true elden lord lol.

Dual frost Nagakiba with bloodhound step is pretty amazing. Then Ash off war your offhand with anything you like, I have way cry as a buff. Nagakiba preserves it's Dex at a B when infused with either cold or bleed.

All these weapons just make you think who is this Ranni is she the main character lol

I use the guts great sword and blood hound step set to cold. This scales int and strength. I have 70 int and 53 strength and I mow through oeople

I use the dark moon great sword on my mage build and I have 80 int, and 35 dex and strength and I’m floating around 813 damage right now I think. I love it mixing up my spells with throwing the slashes

Fun Fact!:
Terra Magica buffs magic damage, not just spells. Ive gotten the royal greatsword to do well over 1000 damage. You can buff it with talismans, terra magica, and the wondrous physic that buffs magic. Its so much better than what people say, and they say its good!

Also this one may be obvious, but since its split damage, increasing your strength buffs the physical damage, increasing intelligence buffs the magic damage. It does scale better with magic, but having a good mix can help you fight enemies that are even resistant to magic.

This is what I need, honestly got bored of spamming L2 with RoB full Dex build, feels like I'm missing out all the other cool spells and weapons. Might respec now before the Fire Giant or swtich to Int in NG+

If you are doing a build based on the Prisoner all you need is the Starscourge Heirloom, and you can use the Dark Moon Greatsword and the Meteoric Blade (which I like the design more than the Moonveil Katana), and you can save those levels for other places.
