the n72 sounds more like a real neve than the great river. i have an 8014 console and some N72 and had a great river. also, geoff tanner, former neve engineer, said a long time ago, that seventh circle audio n72 was pretty much the only "clone" who did it right, from the ones he came across.
ОтветитьPlease excuse a perhaps stupid question but if i get lets say 8 of these, what do i plug it in? what do i use as a A/D converter to get it into my daw. Does using a 8 channel audio interface make sense if i just dont use the interfaces pre's? or should i buy separate converter and just not use an interface at all?
ОтветитьBarry why you dont let us listen this monster ? Talking is cool, but listen is sometimes better
ОтветитьNice 😎👍
ОтветитьI really like how these look (and probably sound) for stepping up my tracking game. Thanks for sharing. Barry, you also mentioned Synergy (I am an owner of this system and really enjoying it) - have you had some experience with it personally? I have used it exclusively for live performance and have not tracked with it yet. (I have the Syn30 head and Morgan AC module currently loaded).
Ответить👍👍👍👍👍!! You could easily get more people watching with "Promo sm".
ОтветитьBeen looking for a good DIY type preamp for a while now, thanks. Seems like since the chip shortage it’s harder to find ones to order from.
ОтветитьI would be interested to hear what you think of DIYRE’s stuff. The colour format is pretty interesting and fun. I’ve got a colour duo and love it.
Edit: and AML’s stuff
Barry...I agree...SCA is awesome. I have five of their J99 (John Hardy / Jensen Twin Servo) modules and they are phenomenal. Build quality is top notch and the sound is unreal. I also use the Synergy system for my guitar tones. I guess I am a lover of modular systems lol. Thanks for bringing more attention to this great company. 👍
ОтветитьWonder how this compares to the GAP Pre73 Jr.
ОтветитьOne of the BEST Neve style pres you can get, hands down. The secret weapon of many studios.
ОтветитьThks Barry. How would you compare Great River Vs BAE Vs Neve?
ОтветитьKiller price too though…quality costs though…although it would be very nice to have I’ll be staying with my very neutral RME interfaces and do the colouring in the box or through my 1972 Allen and Heath Mod 3 mixing desk which has 16 Carnhill/Marinair transformers in it 😇, and of course Neve UK have a 2 channel interface that they just brought out…
ОтветитьCheck out UK Sound 1173
ОтветитьI have 2 of them and they sound flipping GREAT!
ОтветитьHmm or meh. Not sure which. Certainly one of the two. Seems like a company looking to drag peeps into their ecosystem. Not plug and play friendly with canonical industry standard formats it seems. Proprietary format seems off-putting. Why not go 500 series? Ok, so they are tiny tidbit modules and decided NOT to go 500 series. I'm puzzled by the layout/format. It has feet but no ears. So, how do you physically incorporate it into a 19inch rack? And, the vents would all with next to each other right? So they'd feed their heat into the module next to them.
ОтветитьI own 2 if these plus 2 SCA J99's. Great preamps!
ОтветитьGreat video blessings on blessings
