Cheiro Roxa Chilli Test

Cheiro Roxa is a stunning looking Chinense variety from Brazil. Can’t remember whom sent the seeds as grown them for a few years now so forgot, easy to grow and never have a problem with them, never tried them but thought it was about time, so today Charlotte and I try them to see what they are like

The plants grow great in a pot as well as in the ground to over a metre high. Ours are in the ground this year and are quite bushy, they aren’t to keen on the sun and like a shady position, In between the dark foliage you will see these unique purple and peach coloured pods, they start off a dark purple and ripen to a pinky/peach colour. The pods get about 2-3 cm long and same wide, a really good producer that seems to have a longer season than most chinense varieties

What’s it Like?
How Hot is It?

Instant chinense flavour, habaneroish but not that earthy flavour, has a nice bit of sweetness to it as well, very nice. Loved it.

Heat hits pretty quick and then it builds a bit, started in the back of the throat, top palate and in the cheeks and then it moved forward till the whole mouth was burning, its around habanero heat and a nice deep burn that stays for ages once it peaks

An easy growing chilli, looks great, tastes great and has quite a bit of a kick to it as well as being a great producer
