ОтветитьA very nice SBC. It would be beneficial to have a Raspberry Pi standard of some kind. These spinoff RPi-SBCs are not really a true comparison of the capabilities of their performance. Most videos just load some OS software and neglect the GPIO Pins or the camera connectors, etc. The hobby user needs better robot/drone/AI project support. 😎 Anyway, a great video. Thank you.
ОтветитьTragically this board has been discontinued.
Ответитьwindows 11 ?
ОтветитьQuestion for the public: my entire household, office, and several friends left Windows for Mac when Windows got really bad... so is Windows today worth bothering with? I haven't touched a Windows computer since XP.
ОтветитьFirst smartphone having only touch keyboard was motorola defy mini. Actually I have samsung galaxy Note 10
ОтветитьIt's way too expensive now (October 2022).
ОтветитьSetting the rock pi c on it's bottom is incredibly dangerous as the bare die is exposed and prone to cracking. Always ensure it's not touching anything other than a heatsink!
ОтветитьDon't suppose you had issues getting the wifi adapter to accept the drivers? There's a large group of people that seem to be encountering the issue where windows will recognize the adapter, but won't allow it to be used.
ОтветитьWhere can you buy this board? I cannot find any shop having it
ОтветитьYT is a memory hog. If the rig had 8Gb it would give a better experience under YT in both OS's.
Fact: on this PC I'm using an Intel G1840 Celeron CPU which I believe is roughly equivalent to the one in the video (dual core against quad, but mine has a higher clock) and roughly of the same vintage, bought with 4Gb and upgraded to 8Gb myself, and that upgrade is what has done the difference, what allows me to use this PC stil today (office use, for gaming I have another rig) using YT and indeed for general browsing, without too many drawbacks.
Perfect no, usable yes and much faster under the merciless talons of YT than the miniPC in the video showed to be.
"There's nothing wrong with a chip from 2016."
Amen!
The modern technology culture of having to constantly be on the cutting edge of consumer grade technology isn't really feasible when you consider Moore's law.
Looking forward to the next edition of the Rock Pi X.
It'll be interesting to see if we get any "micro consoles" from these X86 SBCs that basically end up acting like Steam Machines.
I wonder if Win7 would be speedier
ОтветитьIt’s pies all round!
ОтветитьHe’s rocking to an X Pi!
ОтветитьCould this board runs windows xp? windows 98? I would love to have a small form factor retro-pc! Maybe a follow up video ? (please :)
ОтветитьLOL, even x86 boards are cheaper than RISC-V ones, and with a lot more resources and performance :)
This is a very cool board.
Where do I get rock pi x on the website
Ответитьmuch more expensive now, as we all should have anticipated :(
ОтветитьI don't know if you have already answered this or not. When you update the software to be able to boot from an USB port. Can you boot from a normal USB card reader adapter that has more than one type card port. Like a normal SD port and Micro SD port on the same card reader?
ОтветитьIs there an equivalent UK style 3-pin power supply we can get to avoid a mess of conversion?
ОтветитьThanks a lot for the great explanation. However, the board lost me, with only one USB 3.0 port.
ОтветитьSTANLEY!
Ответитьtoo bad I can't find this board anywhere.
ОтветитьThe highest passmark-per-dollar ratio at about 8.786, with the UDOO BOLT V8 coming in second at about 7.636
ОтветитьDid window 10 cost extra.
ОтветитьIs it possible to run a virtual machine on these devices? Anyone tried?
ОтветитьI can’t get the WiFi to work on windows 10 please help
ОтветитьOkay. we need this in a pi 400 form factor and I'm in!
ОтветитьNice, I might get one for a file server.
ОтветитьДжон Леннон воскрес!
ОтветитьStill more powerful than my computer
ОтветитьNo, something 4 years old new, IS a stupid idea...
Ответитьnice video but an x86 board without sata connector is quite useless...
ОтветитьHave been looking at the rock pi range for a while but was unsure about buying from abroad. Happier now that my favourite channel successfully purchased and reviewed. Any idea on delivery time from abroad ?
ОтветитьSuper proud we Chinese have created such a great product to counter the monopoly of those so-called first tier vendors. MADE IN CHINA 2025!!!
ОтветитьMini PC x86 Retro... Windows 98. :)
ОтветитьUnlike the most ARM based SBCs this one has a well made open source gpu driver
ОтветитьHey man, can you make a video about these boards being used as thin clients? I'm looking into using iGel which runs on Linux, but their Raspberry Pi version doesn't support key features we need such as VMware Horizon and Imprivata, so I guess we're left with their x86 version for now.
ОтветитьI was a little disappointed that you didn't us Mr Scissors to open the box but below the description I saw an ad for a Mr Scissors T-shirt, so all is good.
ОтветитьGreat video, as usual. It is possible to run windows 7 on this board?
ОтветитьIt is more interesting to see does Android can run on that configuration....😐😐😐
ОтветитьHaha. My PC is well out of date using an i7 3770k I bought in 2012. Still gaming on it using a 1060 6GB. Definitely could do with an upgrade, though I'm often surprised It's still holding up so well.
ОтветитьLove the consistent standard procedures for explanation that you follow ! Thumbs up
ОтветитьI like how other SBC OEMs just slap "Pi" in the name to associate it with the Raspberry Pi. Even though they're completely unrelated.
ОтветитьSpec wise, the Odroid N2+ is better than both the Raspberry Pi 4 and Rock Pi X for around the same price.
ОтветитьAny silicone compound between processor chip and heat sink?
Ответить
