Thank you for this review! I am a native (US) speaker. Great to do from home for a few extra $$.😊

Sir I want to ask you that if a tutor unable to take class for 2 or 3 days then does the app block the tutor or not paid his money isn't it ?

Is it required for you to have video calls with the students or all of it are purely chatting?

Can you pick who you speak with? If I want to speak with native Spanish speakers is this possible?

Thanks for the Cambly review!  I find your videos to be very helpful.  I will add my personal experience to this discussion in case someone finds it useful. This is a very long comment.  I have been working on Cambly for over a year now.  It actually took them 10 MONTHS to approve my profile!  I had actually given up on them and was focusing on other projects. However, when I got the approval email I was excited and nervous.  I will tell you now that Cambly has been amazing for me. I see it as a Godsend for my circumstances.  I work on the adult platform (10.20/hour) NOT Cambly Kids ($12/hour).  True, that is not much money but for me it is worth it.  I live in Belize (originally from the U.S.) and the money doubles here, so I end up with $20.40/hour.  But even if you live in a more developed country like the US or Canada it could be worth your time if you enjoy talking to people. This is an easy way to make a little extra and quick money.  I know several people in the US who do it only on the weekends when they need extra spending money.  I was initially nervous because I was unsure what to expect. I'm not a teacher, I do not have an English degree (although I did complete a B.S. at university), and I'm not great with technology.   There was no need for nerves.  Cambly made it super easy for me!  As a new Tutor they will direct students to you and promote your profile to give you a good start.  There is no lesson planning because Cambly provides all materials.  They are very simple and easy to follow.  Personally, I market my tutoring focus as mainly conversation practice.  I love talking to people from all over the world and I've had AMAZING conversations.  The students are so grateful to have a polite and engaged tutor to talk with so that they can practice their English.  I've NEVER lacked for students. I even have to turn students away sometimes because there are more students than hours that I am willing to work. I work as much or as little as I want.  I make my own schedule. When I want time off I take it and when I'm ready to start working again I do.   I usually work 20 hours/week.  I've worked 30 hours/week at most and have worked 7 hours/week at the least (it just depends on how I feel). However, to avoid confusion I stay fairly consistent with the hours that I choose because I want my students to know that they can depend on my posted schedule. I've read accounts of some tutors working 40-50 hours/week. (Not for me but if that's you then more power to you!)  Also, If you prefer not to have a schedule then Cambly is set up to be a "login and chat" platform.  I do make use of this feature as well.  A degree/certificate is not needed.  If you are polite and engaged in the lesson, and you speak English fluently (native level), then you have met the minimum requirements.  They pay via paypal, as well as  ACH (direct deposit, which is the method that I use).  So simple, so enjoyable, very rewarding, IF, you enjoy this type of work, and it is work.  If you are interested, give it a try.  It probably is not worth it for everyone because individual circumstances vary.  There are also other platforms similar to Camby that may be easier to access, and that pay a lot more, but they have more stringent requirements.  You can research these as well. I hope this was useful! All the best!

Is the website only for learning English? If so, would you know of any similar plattforms for people to learn other lanuages (spec. Spanish)?

Good video but Cambly is not good one if you are really looking to pay bills lol. :D I tried It in 2020. And in my experience they accept you even if you are not from English speaking country like me. You just have to have fluent/native level English.

Cambly isn't even minimum wage so to make a full time income (3k or more per month) is nearly impossible with something like this. However, it pays way better than a lot of shitty GPT sites and you can definitely earn a nice part time income to help pay for some of the bills and expenses.

As a Community Tutor no degree no experience it's really hard for Cambly to ever even say if you're approved or not, also if they have opening at that time, I still check my profile every few weeks or once a month but it's been more than a year with no answers, now I even have 1+ years of teaching as Community Tutor which has been on Italki. Italki I think is next best for Community Tutors, but same thing Italki needs to have openings, but at least when they do it's easier to get approved. For the most part Cambly looks for Professional Tutors

I applied in early October and they saying my application(late November now) is "still under review". SCAM. You need to start reviewing sites that actually pay. I suspect a lot of these sites just wont your personal info.
