I am shopping for a new printer and I already have a Prusa but I get hosed on buying anything from them. They seem to utilize the user community in doing their beta testing.

FINALLY, a review that shows the shortcomings in an objective way without excess positive or negative bias. I am still leaning mk4 prusa because of the sheer reliability in parts and performance, even if it isnt as fast (and supposed best first layer support of any printer from what I hear), but I was really bouncing back and forth about buying a x1c as a second printer because of the support and quality control issues present in the vast majority of PRC based companies so far :/ . I do hope they fix this in next generations though, I would love to get some cheaper workhorses to support a core reliable prusa base.

Didn't send all of my order yet says it's complete, ordered the package and bought an extra reel holder so I could do 8 colors. Tried emailing no response, called the number on the receipt and got a telemarketer in florida. My bank is dealing with this and if they want the unused package back they can pay the shipping.. Was so excited and now disappointed. Thought buying it in the USA would make a difference. Glad others are enjoying it.

Overall, do you think i should buy this printer, i am decently exprienced with 3d printing and am looking to print helmets with this. What do you think, is it worth a buy?

I used to have the Mk3 4 years ago but it required a good deal of tinkering and even though it was fun I decided to give it to my son who makes it sing songs even to this day (obviously he's more skilled at this then I am). I recently purchased the UniFormation GKTwo Resin printer ~2 months ago and completely love it but there are applications that a filimanet printer would lend itself better so based on a slew of videos including this one I ordered the X1 over the Mk4 today and can't wait to have the same experience many others have had and of course 2 printers are better then one ;-) Thanks for the video!!!!

I've been going back and forth between this and the Mk4 (for purchase), and you tipped me to the X1 Carbon. I appreciate your knowledge of the printer and acknowledgment that it's not perfect, but that Bambu has been hard at work to improve it.

So many issues in one year? Wow. It seems this printer is no Toyota and needs so much maintenance. My Prusa had 0 issues since 2026 except for a need to change hot end.

Being a long-term tinkerer of 3D Printing, I am at a point where I want a "buy and print" machine with less repairing and upgrading that has been required for a while. The X1 is on my watchlist as the solution, but I think it will be more than likely the next version.
How does a filament dryer work with it though? Is the AMS a dryer also?

As a first time buyer with absolutely no experience with 3D printing, it’s been refreshing to hear of your one year life experience with the X1C. From all the previous videos I’ve watched, it almost sounded too good to be true. Still a couple of months away from my purchase, I’m still learning.

I heard that Bambu did not contribute their updates to the Prusa / Slic3r opensource projects. Is that true? If so, that would be pretty shabby.

I am looking at this printer to replace a old de-funked printer to print ABS, reinforced nylon & Acrylic for engineering prototypes and new designs. I appreciate your review as it was not long and drawn out but very informative.

So you support sending all your original designs and patent prototypes to corporations, governments and individuals? You really think that rights agreement would either be written to protect you, or honored by criminal organizations? Man you're trusting!

Considering the XIC or just adding another MK3S+ to my fleet. Would be my first Bambu Lab printer. Would you recomend I stay with the faithful Prusa to keep pumping out prints or the XIC to decrease print times and hope all the updates to the printed make it last longer and keep it's print consistancy?

Hi. Good info!
Our local deliverer have an idea of swap-service, which include pickup/delivering of swap-machine. I’m starting to think that’s a good idea, for us (business), if we have to replace heatbed cable 😅. What’s your opinion on subject?
Thanks a lot!

With everything on the cloud(not necessarily bad, except for making mass marketed products!), it is a matter of time that Bamboo Labs unveil the digital design marketplace, coupled with rfid locked material(only material that would be allowed to print marketplace item), it could drive their marketshare exponentially.
It won't be a big surprise the P1S is introduced make it possible with a lower priced product. There is definitely more under the hood in P1S, than just a few panels for an enclosure.
Rather than making money out of low margin 3d printer business, they could be making money by, just running an online marketplace. The days of 3D printed products for financial incentive is numbered!.Just some 💭❤👍.

Hi, my main concern is that this machine is now one year old. I'm considering to buy one, but what if they release a new model in one month? Imagine buying the by then redundant model and seeing the spare-part accessibility dry up. Those are my main concerns.

I've built over 6 awesome printers, started ten years ago and now it's time for a workhorse to do my jobs. I want to print ABS again and make stronger parts for the projects I'm working on. The X1C seems to be the perfect solution so far.

Looking to replace my trusty old Prusa MK3. Keeping it in working condition is just not worth it anymore. Bambu Lab seems like it could set a new gold standard. Will buy an X1 Carbon as soon as I can spare the money.

I have been watching a lot of videos on this printer, I have an invention and looking to make them from carbon fiber. I don't know how many I might need to keep up with demand and I want to make sure that I start out right and not have 10 or more of the printers and regret buying them down the road. So far they look pretty good and will have to try one and build from there, thank you for your videos

I am still looking at this as a first FDM printer. I did not like the idea that initially I would need to go through their cloud to run my prints, so the lan mode is certainly a big step forward. Is there a way to write sliced prints directly to the SD card now or would I need a different slicer to do that? I have been using lychee for my resin prints. Does anyone have experience with how lychee would work with this or is that a waste of time?
