I am working on a few courses I will publish soon on SkillShare.
The first one will be about all unspoken rules about entering working world and how to manage your manager, co workers, how to lead self, how to manage and prepare for meetings, how to be seen as talent, how to be seen as a high performer, how to ensure your performance is always assessed as outstanding and exceeding etc. Everything no one really tells about. There is so much material and advice on how to get a job, what do you do when you actually start?

Hi Sanja, I have 9 years of experience in the HR field in INDIA and have recently moved to the UK. I’m currently searching for job opportunities but have been struggling to find any. I’d like to know what steps I can take to secure a position and make my profile more attractive to potential employers.

Hey Sanja, nice that I found you! I'm really interesting in working as an HRBP after my Master and your video helps a lot to get an overview about this role. I hope I can make the step into this position cause they told me it's hard to get inside of this directly after school. Do you have any tips for me? Greetings from Germany :)

I have recently taken over this role. Just landed up on your channel and finding it useful, thanks. QQ- As a HRBP we get a lot of unscheduled calls in between, how do you manage your focus and also how do you prioritize and accomplish deliverables / tasks for the day?

This role is an artificial ideological construct invented by David Ulrich a few years ago. This is one of the typical successfully promoted pseudo-useful consulting tricks.
The key question is what exactly this so-called HR business partner is ACCOUNTABLE for and what decisions he/she has the right to make. The problem is that when they try to explain the role of HR in the organization, and in particular, the role of the so-called HR business partners, they forget to emphasize 2 things:

1) that it is managers, and not HR, who are accountable for the staff subordinate to them, that is, it is a manager (not HR) who is accountable for a) the working behavior and work results of their subordinates, b) the teamwork of subordinates, and c) the enthusiasm/engagement of subordinates.

2) any (not only HR) employee of an organization is, BY DEFINITION, obliged to partner with all stakeholders in the organization.

Therefore, guys, PLEASE stop mindlessly repeating, like parrots, mantras about the HR in general and the HR business partners in particular. Turn on your heads and finally understand that you should not stupidly list the functions of these artificially created roles. Try to realize one single simple thing: EVERY HR specialist must be able to partner with all stakeholders in the organization. There should be not specially created "partner" roles in HR or finance, or logistics, or marketing, or in the legal department. If the employees of the organization do not know how or do not want to interact effectively, then no dedicated HR employee (whatever he/she is called) will solve this problem. Management and only management should be held accountable for this.

And about HR, it's enough to simply say that 3 things are expected from ANY specialist in this field: professionalism in his/her function, business understanding and leadership (as from any other specialist in any other function in the organization).

❤ thanks for your video, Sanja. I was still doubting about what i am doing during the last 5 months because in my local market, they are misunderstanding the HRBP role is the main PIC for a BU who will be in charge of every things including the executive task in Hr ops, employee relations etc. I really appreciate for your sharing and now I am more confident with my current contribution to the BU. Could you also share which course should the beginner HRBP start with?

Thoroughly enjoyed this vid, I could listen to you speak all day! I understand your content was quite specific to professions in the HR field but I felt this resonate to any professional role as the fundamental work routines & ethos you speak about are quite relative. The main point I really liked, & I don't often hear managers say this, is empowering staff to take tasks not only off your plate but to use them as experience for their own growth 👏🏾 Great leadership quality!

Thank you for your wonderful sharing. I just took a chance switching from recruitment to HRBP without a proper preparation so I’m trying to adopt as much as knowledge and understanding for the role.
Agree with you that we don’t really need a degree to get into the field. There 2 things I’m curious about that I hope you could help clarify:

1. When an HR issue comes up, how you know what you should do about it? Like what solution should be applied and the model/framework/process you should implement.

2. Knowing what to do for your people is a natutal talent that an HRBP already have or it can be gained from learning or reading lots of books?
Thank you so much. Your channel is definitely on my list of reference sources from now on.
