Cycling the bolt on the Ruger American sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard. Horrible.😢
ОтветитьLove my Tikka T-Light's... My collection is 22-250, 7mm Rem Mag, 300WSM and 338... Everyone are extremely accurate!
ОтветитьThis test is invalid. Shooting rounds that fast and that many in a row is going to make the groups so much worse. Without taking any kinda break. Should be 1 round per min. And even that is pushing it for that many rounds.
ОтветитьI have a 25-20 I got from my dad .. any info on the cartridge
Ответитьagreed Japs got skills machining...howa does all the building 4 Weatherby
Ответить👍👍
ОтветитьSavage x-axis 6.5 for me
Ответить$700 is now a starter ....few years back this was cheaper than 700 in Canadian $
ОтветитьWe definitely missed the savage Axis 2!!! No body likes to talk about it because it STOMPS rifles quadruple the price! At now has the new acustock and acutrigger. It destroys the Ruger American as it Does NOT have barrel heat deflection. Same barrels as their savage 10. At under $500 The Savage Axis 2 is the greatest value in the and you would be floored at the performance.
ОтветитьSir do you have 3006 rifle bullet drop chart in meters 400 to 1000
ОтветитьGreat video . . . but you have not convinced me to trade-in my "old" Savage Model 11 Sporter weight. Three shot 100 yard groups I can hide with a quarter when I do my job. After that they start to open up; but it's a deer rifle so that's OK. But I forked out the coin for a 19 oz. Leupold VX-5HD FireDot 3-15x44mm FireDot Duplex (Bee's knees in early dawn and twilight). BDC dial instead of a "Christmas tree" reticle. I love the scope and it carries the rifle. A friend of me has the Tikka as you show (in 6.5 CM) and I watched him hit, not just move, two consecutive golfballs at 300 yards. If I lost my Savage in a boating accident I would look at one of those. The new Savages (Apex) don't call to me.
ОтветитьThe first rifle I ever bought was a tikka t3 30.06 as my deer hunting rifle about 15 years ago. I still have it and it's my favourite rifle that I own.
If I was starting out and had a tight budget and wanted something well built, accurate and reliable the gun I would go for would be a howa 1500.
My grandfather bought me a Winchester model 88 about 50 years ago which pretty much made me an instant .308 fan. Really enjoyed the test. CZ might be another one to think about, everything I've had from the Czechs has been solid, no nonsense stuff.
ОтветитьAre none of these rifles sighted in or can he just not shoot
ОтветитьThe CVA Cascade should had been in there
ОтветитьI like and enjoy other calibres rifles but seems to return to a 308 every time .😅😂❤❤❤
ОтветитьI would match the sauer 100. For accuracy, smooth action, 3 position safety, flush 5 shot mag, 60 degree bolt lift, 2 to 5lb trigger pull and super crisp. Against all entry level priced rifle. I have had everything you have tested in this class.
ОтветитьDo all of these Scopes need to be zeroed? And being pulled wildly, might that be the shooter?
Ответить🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ come on Ron
ОтветитьPeople get so anal about rifles and threaded barrels and adjustable trigger and every other feature. Man I just need something that can knock down a magnum whitetail at 100 yards and I can do that confidently with any of these guns.
Ответить300wm, 3006, 300wsm, 308……… and so on capable of shooting the same bullets with some exceptions. Accuracy comes down to the rifle and load consistency. They are all very capable rounds it’s all personal preference
ОтветитьRecoil Management?
My question is …
Is this proper? I’m new to precision shooting so interested is learning. I see the recoil throwing his hand completely off the rifle on more than one occasion. Should there be more “driving the rifle”?
Great videos Ron. I am interested in getting a new riifle but i am perplex to pick between 6.5 prc or the old 7mm08 and 308. Can you do a video on that?
ОтветитьNo 308 is worth the money they ask 😂
ОтветитьThe best budget .308 is no longer made Marlin X7 and Remington 788
ОтветитьI love the Tikka I have 3 of them and the action is as smooth as butter. Accuracy is great for a hunting rifle.
ОтветитьI would love to see his opinions on the CVA Cascade in .308. I have heard really good things for it being a "budget" rifle, unless that'll be in a different category.
ОтветитьHi! My 100/105/108 grains 243 are way more accurate than any 308 i see at my range...
🖖🏻🇫🇷😎🇫🇷😎🇫🇷🖖🏻
Think
In a shtf situation wheel guns are the last to survive... Specifically in 22lr "fact"
What scope did you have on that Ruger America ?
ОтветитьWell Ron, thank you for this review. I am looking for a new left handed Whitetail rifle and I’m from Pennsylvania and tight woods, and I can’t see spending $1000 when that $500 Ruger American varment comes in left handed which I need and was darn accurate love your reviews keep up the great content and keep it coming.
ОтветитьYou don’t think barrel temp has any effect on the accuracy? I now my 300 after just 3 rounds the 4th will be 6 inches off and the other 3 will be in a 1 inch group because of how hot it gets.
ОтветитьIt bugs me they're not really paying attention and taking this too serious he kept on messing up what are you supposed to do when he was asking him to check where he hid on the board and he was getting a very wrong when it was watched on camera that some went over the board and did not even hit it and he said that they all hit and work in a line like take your job seriously or don't even do it
ОтветитьNo savage? In a best budget rifle video? Huh.
ОтветитьThose light rifles in 308 are punishing on your shoulder. I have a 700SPS varmint. It has a 26 inch heavy barrel. The recoil isn’t bad because of the weight but I’ve shot 700 ADL’s that would make you grit your teeth. The AR10 absorbs the recoil. I have a M1 Garand that I had a Criterion 308 barrel installed and a FAL. I love the 308.
ОтветитьTikka stainless requires a few rounds for break in. I currently have 2, but have owned 4. All required break in.
Ответить9 power is challenging at 100 yards?😮
ОтветитьI recently bought a tikka t3x lite .308. I love the way it shoots but I quickly noticed it prefers lighter ammo and it did not like anything federal that I shot.
ОтветитьDisappointing on the 700.
ОтветитьThis guy can't shoot at all
ОтветитьYou really should cut that grass. It may or may not affect the bullet in a measurable way, it's hard to know for sure. However, we do know it affects our view. Also maybe place the target camera closer to the target to get rid of some atmospheric disturbances.
My personal favourite budget rifle is the X-Bolt. It's a very slim action, comes in a proper SA for the .308, and the basic stock is round and slender, which I like. Also the safety is superior to the Tikka or Remington (easier to operate, can unload in safe).
Mine's a shooter too, but YMMV on that.
Mein gewehr Mauser m12
ОтветитьSo the Ruger shot just as good with a 4 power handicap and you can pick it up for 2 to 400 dollars cheaper, but let's say that the Tikka won. 😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьYou can't beat a Tikka T3 for under $1,000.
ОтветитьPlease use a bigger target area that your hit will be inside of the target even hen changing your ammo. Thank you very interesting :)
ОтветитьRon.. is there a reason you keep letting go of the rifle mid shot ? 😅
ОтветитьRuger has so many models it's hard to find the exact model
ОтветитьSo did the test the predator or the normal american? They kept switching between calling it eh "american" and the "american predator". The predator is more of a truck gun and the normal american does have the longer barrel.
ОтветитьI own a variety of bolt action rifles. Savage Axis 2, a couple of Ruger Americans, and a Tikka T3x Lite. But when it came to the .308, I did not buy budget or bolt action. I got a Desert Tech MDRXCOM with several barrel kits. It came with the .308 kit, and the others collect dust. I probably should get a budget rifle. When I got shooting with a few of my friends the MDRX is the "cheap" rifle in the group. But with most people I go shooting with, the rifles in this video are more common.
