I love your channel but im concerned about saving hot things in plastic - doesn't the heat interact with the plastic and isn't there likely to be some leakage into the food - could you use glass or stainless steel instead for the hot stuff?
ОтветитьI'd like to know where you get those beautiful wood bowls for everyday prep and serve. Trying to get away from so much plastic (even though it's so convenient). I'm looking more for beauty in my kitchen.
ОтветитьI pressure cook a large amount of potatoes, for eight minutes. If you let them fully cool and steam off, before fridging them, they hold up beautifully. Since they are all in one piece, you can have them any way you like. Also, pressure cooked potatoes are more flavorful than boiled.
ОтветитьFor pastes and spices: €2 coffee grinder from a dollar store. Works awesome. No need for $20 fancy things.
ОтветитьI have a huge stainless steel pot with three floors for steaming where I boil and steam a large amount of vegetables for the week, then use the same logic as you do with prepped broccoli
Ответитьman please dont use plastic storage
ОтветитьTo make fried rice, I break up left over rice in a bowl with my hand oiled first before I add to the pan. You can also use a ziploc bag. It saves a lot more time
ОтветитьSOOO HELPFUL-This episode, this channel-thank you from our family!
ОтветитьI had to reload and subscribe to your site. Has anyone else had this issue? Please help
Ответить😛😋❤
ОтветитьSi many great ideas!!!
Ответитьit's common practice to switch out the water when soaking beans. Multiple times and definitely not use it to cook in. Most beans, especially Chickpea are very dirty and they need to soak for a long time, with multiple fresh water batches
ОтветитьNice video, just started watching your channel.
I definitely try the paste and the chickpeas.
Another idea what you can easy do with the potatoes are homemade gnocchi, just mash them, add egg, flour and salt ( of course you can add directly other herbs or flavors). Mix it to a dough. Let it rest in the fridge for 20min. Make portions, roll to a sausage, cut it and cook it for around 3min (till they coming up) and done 😊
I wanna know where these people are buying ginger that slices that easily.
Every time I buy ginger and try and cut it, it's like cutting a root. You know, because it is.
But I see people in these cooking videos with this ginger that cuts as easy as a cucumber.
Where in the fuck are they getting that from
dude u use to much plastic
ОтветитьDo vermicelli noodles also need to be soaked?
ОтветитьGreat video!! Thank you for so many useful tips. Please make more of these to help us home cooks 😊
ОтветитьAs a vegetarian, I've got to have beans in my salad :) I love my InstaPot for that reason. Thank you for all the hacks. I love these types of prep videos. And your garden! Looks like a dream to me. You're super cool and your wife is very blessed to have a husband loves to experiment with food and also grows a garden!!!
ОтветитьSteamed broccoli is quickly loosing its nutritional value. Same with many other prepped veggies. I understand time saving concept but at what price?
ОтветитьWho is Eric. And why is he in a tomb?
ОтветитьAre the rice noodles soaked in boiling water? Or what temperature?
ОтветитьI usually cook for 1-2 people at a time so my favorite tip is to freeze 4oz portions of meats in zip-top sandwich size bags. Smoosh them flat so there's no air in the bag and freeze flat. About 8 baggies fit into a gallon bag and they defrost almost instantly for quick meals! I do the same with seasonal fruits and veggies for smoothies, etc. I don't reuse raw meat bags, but will wash and reuse fruit/veg bags. Much love from Oklahoma!
ОтветитьCheat code, make a double batch beef and veg stew, 2 days later use it as a home 😅Made pie filling
ОтветитьWatching this video makes me wonder what his "putting hot food in the fridge" policy is?
ОтветитьPlain...rice?
ОтветитьSuch great ideas. I love using white beans in soups I'm going to puree because it makes them creamy and helps to thicken it at the same time.
ОтветитьHi, can you please comment on adding vinegar to the water for soaking the chick peas.
ОтветитьLiterally do all of this except the beans. And I'm gunna start doing that tomorrow
ОтветитьI thought we’re supposed to store beans in their liquid?
ОтветитьYou can fry the Aromatic Paste before adding the rice. Raw flavour of Garlic and Ginger is not very pleasant with Rice either
ОтветитьYour bean tip gave me a thought... what about keeping just soaked beans in a container in the fridge instead of cooked? I think they would keep even longer that way and it's a lot less work for prepping because then you could just cook the soaked beans with whatever grain you decide to have with the meal. I'll have to try this and see how it goes.
ОтветитьI watch you since you were with your bro cooking on a counter top. I just wanted to say, good job man. Through ups and downs, you were able to hang in there. Proud of you as a person. This video was suggested to me again. So here I am watching it... again. Thank you bud.
ОтветитьI love your videos. But I cringe every time you store your food in plastic containers, even when their hot. Is not good for the health nor for the environment. I recommend switching them for glass containers, they come in all sizes and are reusable without the harmful effects.
ОтветитьHey curious about how long things keep in the fridge? Could you start adding it to your tags in the comments? Smile😅 🙇♂️
ОтветитьThank you for making most of these suggestions plant-based, so that everyone can make use of them!
ОтветитьThank you for your videos, I'm getting so much inspiration out of them and it really pimps my life as a home cook. :)
Concerning the lid and cooking time of the chickpeas: Do you put the lid on and start counting the 30 minutes when you turn the heat on or when it actually starts to boil? I'd guess the latter, because it says on the package that the cooking time would be 45 minutes when soaked. But I want to be sure before trying it out. :)
I have a question. My question has to do with herbs and spices. How does one know what herb or spice goes with what other herbs or spices? I'm fixing food for just me. Not a family of 4 or 5
Ответитьyou look like iceposeidon cx
ОтветитьI find beans go bad pretty quick...
ОтветитьYes, garden content!
ОтветитьChickpeas freeze perfectly, so if you feel that you’re running out of time - freeze them! 😍 maybe beans too, haven’t tried it, but I freeze chilli con carne with red beans and it’s good :)
ОтветитьI love your videos, but I just wanted to say maybe you have a little too much faith in some of your viewers to come up with recipes, lol. I'm no chef, I cook a majority of my families meals at home and have for about 6 years now. I would say 80% of meals I use a recipe for. Ideas do not just flow to me staring at the fridge. I have to make a meal plan and list every time I go to the store. But this is why seeing how you cook is so helpful. Maybe I'll get there one day though.
ОтветитьPotatoes... as you're doing four, just start them cold after you've peeled and cut two of them, then add the others as the water heats up. Cook for 6 minutes once the water comes to a boil if you want to re-heat/fry them after storing them in the fridge, or 8 to 9 minutes if you want to eat them just cooked or as a mash.
As I'm single, I usually do a double batch, taking out half around the 6-minute mark to pan fry and have with something like a brochette and a salad later.
I’ve always been too intimidated to cook dried beans but you’re making me feel brave
ОтветитьPSA: draining your soaked beans increases the nutritional value and makes you less farty.
ОтветитьMan your kids are easy to feed lol mine would never even get close to touching or eating something like that
ОтветитьYou should rinse the beans after soaking them to wash away the phytates (compounds that make you gassy) 👍
Ответить
