How to Permanently Add Subtitles To a Video or Movie Using VLC

In my case, the original video before adding subtitles, my TV can play it as usual, but after adding the subtitles to the video, my TV just crashes and cannot play it. But on the other hand, it works on my laptop, does anyone know how to fix this problem? Please help 🙏😭

Your video was absolutely Excellent is describing the details!! But the sub titles on my video was not saved . So the video when I opened it, I had to manually click on the media player video to add the subtitle file and then it was showing the subtitles. How can I permanently embed those subtitles without having to additionally add them. I have window and media windows. Please please respond. Thank you!

Why does the subtitles show's duplicated in 3 rows?

These are great tutorials David and your presentation is excellent. However, I have followed the instructions twice (several hours each time) with both an .ass file and a .srt file. But when I play back the result the subtitles do not show. What am I doing wrong?

It worked!! Good instructions, easy to follow. I used an MP4 and SRT file. The only problem is that the subtitles appear vertically on the right-side of the video, but of course I want to show them horizontally on the bottom. I tried playback in VLC, Windows Media Player, Windows Movies & TV. How can I fix that problem? (My subtitles are French & English, so the issue with Arabic and Hebrew shouldn't be a problem)

Is there any faster way??

I am following the same instruction but in the end the video I am getting is without the footage and subtitle only sound is coming. Please suggest what to do?

Thx for the nice video David. It doesn’t work for me and I’m hoping you could help. I have the newest version of VLC. There is no “Convert/Save”. There is “Convert/Stream”, but when I use it, it doesn’t give you an option of adding subtitles. Could you please tell me how I can get it to work. There is a tab on the top that I can add subtitles. But it just adds it while I’m viewing it in VLC. It will not let you permanently burn the subtitles into the mp4 file. What can I do in order to burn the subtitles into an mp4 file? Thank you in advance for any insight.

Doesnt work, it leaves half of the video black and the other half with subtitles and the video. EDIT : got to fix it changing video settings to another type and set back to mp4 again, dont know what happened
