Nice
ОтветитьOh! How satisfying! So, so satisfying. Thank you very much for the informative video.
ОтветитьAdobe love !?? ☀️☀️☀️☀️
ОтветитьWhy not use interlocking adobe blocks, no mortar needed! Also, instead of laying 2 blocks together for thickness, form bigger blocks.
ОтветитьCan I plaster the adobe walls with cement mortar? Any pros and cons?
ОтветитьAre Adobe and Hemp the same when it comes to insects and mold??
ОтветитьI have experimented with cob building a small chicken coop and really loved the sturdy nature of the building but the downside is that it is extremely labour intensive. Wanting to build our own home I was curious if it would be possible to use a cob mixture in between the Adobe bricks that we could press holes into (just like in a cob structure) to later help us to apply a layer of cob finishing or plastering to the walls. Would this add any extra strength to the structure as we have expanding soils in our area that tend to crack. Would it actually be possible for the cob mixture to adhere to the Adobe brick?
ОтветитьAwesome!! Very detailed oriented. I love it!!
ОтветитьThis video is excellent and after searching 2 days that one make really a difference about Adobe construction. Thank you
ОтветитьAn easier option for exterior and interior walls is cob on hay blocks. Still needs a foundation and roof beam, but is easier and quicker than adobe
ОтветитьAmazing!!!
ОтветитьI wonder how the Adobe construction would do on a small home in the Sierra Nevada at 5,000ft ele. where snow & temps to 5 degrees are encountered during each winter. Maybe insulation could be sandwiched between double rows of Adobe Block. I am in fire country & already had a hellish fire burn across my property burning most of my neighbor's (wood) Homes, I saved My home, But I want to build a 2nd (smaller) guest house that is fire resistant, & I like the looks of Adobe.
ОтветитьI stopped watching after he mentioned "to code"
ОтветитьI understand keeping it simple but cheap pvc or conduit would go a long way for wiring especially considering potential repairs
ОтветитьWhat about a tie column so that the tie beam doesn't slip off the wall?
ОтветитьAte you in NM, and if so what is your address
ОтветитьHow high can you structurally go with adobe bricks?
ОтветитьMy back hurts
Ответитьyou guys are working pretty hard. Nothing you touch is light
ОтветитьI'm still confused....how do I make a .PDF?
ОтветитьDo you have to have weird 90’s man earrings to make the Adobe walls square and plumb?
ОтветитьI see you have addressed concrete and adobe interaction. What if instead of mud one were to use cement and organic fiber. Not concrete with rocks but cement with straw and some sand?
ОтветитьBetonový věnec je špatně - vytvoří tepelný most, může se srážet voda na povrchu omítky.
ОтветитьMy question today is: what makes the blocks waterproof? When I get a answer I'll tell you how my father and I did it.
ОтветитьMass storage means what? Thermal storage means during winter, the house stays warm. In the summer, it stays cooler.
ОтветитьUhhhh DOOOOOOOOOOH BEEEEEEEEE
ОтветитьWhat kind of motor wash do you use on your Adobe wall?
ОтветитьWould’ve been cool to see the finished project. But very neat.
ОтветитьI know someone who makes Adobe macaroni and cheese 😆
Ответитьthis sort of building method looks like it would be well suited to codeless areas like west texas scrubland. not sure of the clay content of the soil out there for making the bricks tho.
ОтветитьMy Dad tried to kill me with concrete
ОтветитьWhat's the R-value of that?
ОтветитьHow do you stabilize adobe
ОтветитьI'll be a old man! Time i made them and get them up
Ответитьthe wires are cemented into the walls - lets hope they never need to replace them
ОтветитьI think on a more modern scientific side why not get the powder dirt clay water mixture right then put it in a 10yard cement mixer and then pour it like concrete with forms! Hmmmmm???
Has it ever been tried?
What's the cost of building per square foot I want one of those houses?
ОтветитьI think that adobe died off in the 17 and 1800s with all the mission building. Why use mud and clay bricks when you could use the real thing?
ОтветитьI guess you guys were building a Tsar bomba shelter somewhere in New Mexico.
ОтветитьSo it's more expensive to build a dirt house lol. No thank you. And the cost of the build pays off because of the lack of HVAC heating and air. I'm sure people living in a dirt house in the desert would also like air conditioning
ОтветитьLime mortar and stone for a base, and maybe face or white wash
ОтветитьTwo very important details which have not been mentioned in this video!
1. Adobe and concrete do not get along. They absorb moisture, breathe, expand and contract differently. This means everywhere concrete, cement mortar and adobe are mixed in any fashion are weak points which will separate much more rapidly. For examples of the damage this can cause, check out any of the restoration attempts on existing adobe structures done in the late '60s and into the '70s. I had the displeasure throughout the '90s of assisting in corrective restoration on several of these structures. All concrete had to be removed, then new adobe was used to fix the areas properly.
The metal reinforcements placed every 4 levels will also expand and contract differently, causing even more destruction. You would be better off using jute twine.
2. Adobe historically is covered with lime to protect it. Adobe and lime work well together in regards to moisture and expansion. Look for slaked lime. It works just like plaster, and hinders erosion.
Always keep in mind, just because something is legal code, doesn't mean it's a good idea or good design. Code becomes code because someone in a government position thought it was a good solution for a problem they may not have understood.
I wonder if adobe could b used on native American Indian reservation in south Dakota
ОтветитьGarbage is garbage
Ответить???what are the taxes???
ОтветитьWhat of the taxes???
ОтветитьWhy no straw?
ОтветитьIs it not true that you save ~50% using concrete and adobe?
ОтветитьEmbedding that wiring directly is a very bad idea if you ever had a break or need to upgrade the wiring. Better to imbed metal conduit runs just like the steel ladders.
ОтветитьYou should use clay
Ответить
