Assassins Creed 3 Remastered vs Original Comparison (AC3)

They screw up the colours on a few of connors outfits in the remaster

is it me or the original is waay better than the remastered one?

only problem with the remastered was that they changed the brightness too much and contrast too, the game started to feel very plastic

You had to of accidentally switched the screens around, because the remaster looks worse

The clothes still cannot get wet in remaster.

AC3 has some improvements in areas but they went over the top with the orange tint. Very shoddy remaster

Much better visually, of course the realistic lightning really shows how old facial animations and details are which is what most people will see

Seriously, the "remastered" character models look like graphics from 2004 in Doom 3 or something. There is far more nuance and detail in the original 2011 game's graphics.

Is it just me, or does the original look better? Ben Franklin's character model has more details on his face in the original game. You can see the wrinkles more clearly. Glad I picked up the original. These studios really need to stop delisting the original games and replacing them with stupid remasters. Same with Skyrim.

Yellow fog and blur. Ugh. Another pointless remaster. Probably has tripled the system requirements too.

So I changed my monitor's display setting and my years old AC3 automatically upgraded to Remastered.

Most environments look improved, but I think this plainly displays Ubisoft’s screwed up priorities with game remasters: They think slapping on modern lighting engines is enough to warrant a resale of a decade-old game, and seemingly don’t bother to play the damn things themselves to see all the glaring (no pun intended) issues caused by not updating an art style that was designed to mask/synergize with older tech. They overhauled the lighting with no regard for how it would mesh with the original art style, and it shows in how waxy, lifeless, and all around worse the character models look. This isn’t even to mention the old and new performance issues with the remaster. I don’t know why they even bothered when they could’ve just released a “definitive edition” with all of the extra content packed together and ported to newer consoles with minor bug fixes and called it a day. It was shit when Rockstar did it but at least it would’ve looked less like a bad joke calling it “remastered”.

AC3 Remastered:
We made graphics INCREDIBLY worse.
And drawing distance now MUCH less.

It was a crappy AC game then and it is a crappy AC game now. Whoopty doo... Got it free somehow, still not gonna install it.
