I’ll never forget my first time playing dying light 1 and especially the first night I was so terrified after escaping the volatiles that I kept my flashlight off and crouched all the way back to the tower and ran like hell if I heard a zombie

after finished playing dying light 2 all i can say that im impressed that dying light 1 is better than this family friendly game...dying light 1 make me feel scared for some reason and dying light 2 hmph i finished it within a week feelin nothin

They are both seemingly low budget, but i still love em both.

DL1 make one feel really fucked when the night start and you are outside

But now they have all of it but to get zombie camouflage you need the dlc

A whole year later zombies still do the loony tunes fall

the thing i hate most about dying light 2 is the cartoony look. makes me feel like i’m playing cuphead or something. where as dying light 1 looked amazing.

I never realized how much of a downgrade the sound design is.

As a dude with more than 2.5k hours in DL and 134 hours in DL2 I can say that both are good (Personal opinion)

Dude you might want to make a correction to this video your choices do not matter except for the last little few at the very end of the game other then that 95% of them don’t really matter narrative wise because the results just end up being the same regardless.

"Even more deadly night" refering to DL2? Dude, there's literally no danger of playing during night time in 2, it's lame and totally ruins the entire premise of the franchise.

after the last two updates dying light 2 has improved so much, also just bought the game on sale after the gut feeling update,its lots of fun. And the graphics are so much better than DL1 there's no competition.

There's no contest, 2 has some minor improvements here and there but fails so massively across major/core gameplay elements that any improvements there are feel relatively insignificant. I can still go back to DL1 and get close to the same experience and vibe from the game having played it a dozen times, it's still there even when knowing how events play out. TL were quick to add / change / implement something different and managed to lose the core of what made the first game a success, many a game, tv series or movie sequel succumb to the same hubris. I'm just happy i was there to experience the first game and stick to pretending the second doesn't exist.

in night pursuit dl2 you had to wait a lot till you got to lvl 4 chase, in dl1 you just started and it seemed more dangerous, also I love how volatiles are glitching right in your face or behind you cuz they have set animations instead of physics

Loved the original in almost all ways. Only thing that sucked was the main character. It's like he was in a contest with Ethan in Resident Evil Village for being a lame NPC. Especially annoying because all the other characters were pretty good.

I really enjoy dying light 2 parkour, the new moves and all that, but you get the feeling that you are floating in air, nothing a mod can’t fix tho

see's trees growing on the roof of a building, ummm ok HOW there is roots to trees, that require soil to get water. and i get it it's a video game, but some of it still has to abide by the laws of nature. and physics. considering it is sort of a physics based game.

The sound of Dying Light 1 is just better and more alive you run on metal stuff it sound like metal grass = grass and dirt etc. But in dying light 2 everything has the same running sound you run in metal concrete sound you run in bricks concrete sound you run on grass boom concrete sound with a bit of that shishushishu sound from walking on grass in Minecraft

i've seen almost like 2hrs of reviews on dying light 2 and nothing is catching my attention compared to the first dying light . will probably be another 20yrs until a game as good as DL 1 comes out . The gameplay is flawlesss it reminds me of halo 1,2,3 that's how good it feels

Dying Light's Harran feels like what once was a lived in city. Villador on the other hand feels like it was specifically created as a parkour sandbox for the player. It doesn't feel real.

ik this is an old video but for a video wanting to compare so closely, you failed to mention the major difference in sun effects. DL1 had a realtime moving sun that was insanely beautiful for its age, while DL2's sun is just a PNG that teleports throughout the sky, If you actually look at the differences they are major.

Nothing like the original

Both games are good games. The first one is actually a great game while the second one is just good. Unfortunately techland is afraid to be unique and dig into the aspects of their games that make them unique. DL1 towards the end of the story fell into every mid 2010s video game trope out there. Quick time boss fights and chases, narrow hall way chases into loaded levels outside of the open world that only give you one route. When they had a beautifully crafted open world where you can parkour and choose any route and have really nice cinematic feeling spur of the moment chases that just occurred naturally in the open world. The second one they have fallen into every video game trope for open world rpgs since 2018. Ultimately it looks like techland feels the need to copy others and add aspects from other games into theirs as a way to connect to the mainstream. However, they would create game of the year masterpieces if they just made their own unique game and leaned into their own systems they've created.

what you fialed to mention is the horrendous
controls of dying light two vs the first game and the game does not run as smooth. The games is a hot mess.

Мне понравились обе игры, но только есть некоторое но, эти игры отличаются некоторымы вещами. Одна доработаная и зализаная, а другая еще нет. Конечно, может это фигово, что вроде бы недавно вышла, а по физике и другим вещам хуже первой части.
