For the armored armadillo. Try dash jumping forwarding holding forward while spamming the jump button. Your hand acts as an extension of your feet as a wall jump.

legit listening to this review is what introduced me to the X series and tempted me to try it. got the first legacy collection on a deal a while back and i love them sm, i gotta get to the last 4 games

You can get the Heart upgrade even with most of the wall destoryed, but it's a frame perfect trick and you need to jump off of one of Chill Penguin's Ice platforms.

4, 6, and X were my top games because they were my first video games on NES and SNES.

Musician here: Megaman X was real cool but the canned guitar chops sounded a bit cheesy to me. Nothing like the raw aliased sound of NES's Megaman and how they imitated instruments with so little. There are so many good tracks in Megaman 1, for instance Elecman.

30 years of gaming and megaman x is still my favorite game of all time

i still haven't gotten to mega ma x 2, yet. my younger brother played it and x 3. Today i learned that it went to 4 and as far as 6, thanks to this video.

Only want to comment that this is my favourite game of all time and that I was there man! Renting this game from Video King 30 years ago when all the rich kids already had a N64.

When X came out, the NES had 5 games and the gameboy had 4 so I thought it really was Megaman 10.

One of my favorite things, is that the boomerang cutter weapon can cut off the Octopus arms, and if I remember right, Flame Mammoth's trunk.

Man as a MMX fan , X7 really broke my heart. I really wanted to love that game, since I get how capcom was ambitious with making the franchise merge with the 3D format. But the execution was just so cringeworthy on all levels , it was hard to take the game seriously. I get why ppl hated on X6 and how they shoehorned Zero back into the plot. but what choice did they really have? Fans were not ready to move on with the franchise without Zero since X wasn’t really ready to take on the mantle without him.

Ngl mega man 2 is overated

Also, it seems like you don't know:
Launch octopus has two weaknesses; 1 that deals extra damage, and another that maims him, and disables certain attacks.

Has someone here mentioned about using the boomerangs to cut Mammoth's nose? Octopus's tentacles? And I remember once, forgot which weapon i used, but managed to make Chill Pinguin to form a single statue when using his breath attack (it always forms 2).

Was able to beat all 8 bosses without any upgrade of any kind. I loved this game when it came out.

I was 6 years old in the mid 90s when met zero for the first time after spending months beating the first 8 bosses. I was so confused and mad that I only had the leg armor, a small health gauge, no extra health packs, and didn’t look like X on the cover. I went back and spent 3-6 months playing finding every upgrade, waking up to play for an hour before school and finally beat the game. I spent weeks on that damn spider. Good times.

I love how the intro of this game hints at armor parts with the foot parts being listed in the opening as an optional part but you're forced to pick it up to teach you about the armor system

Their first Megaman game on the SNES was when the SNES already had some 3 years on the market, also their first game on the PSX came when the console was already 3 years old.

It's pretty close to a perfect game. Certainly one of the snes-defining titles for me. I'll rank stage themes:
Opening stage > storm eagle > spark mandrill > boomer kuwanger > armored armadillo > flame mammoth > sigma 1 > sting chameleon > chill penguin > sigma 2 > launcher octopus > sigma 3

Capcom music here is rivaled only by sf2.
