Why Apple Removed The MacBook's Touch Bar

i just realised that my mac have touch bar after watching this ;)

well this was interesting

I loved the touchbar.
I dont want to replace my 15" 2019 Model :(

Fuck the “pro users”!!!
I am really a pro user, I love and miss that beautiful touch bar.

The touch bar is why I got the MacBook Pro 2019 and not the newer M1 model back in 2021 when I bought my MacBook Pro. I love the Touch Bar and use it a lot. I am extremely sad to see it go. I wish Apple would offer a MacBook Pro version with it for the users that love this feature. To me, this is one thing that sets MacBook Pro apart from other laptops. It would be nice to see this feature make its way back onto MacBook Pro in the future.

I'm using and really like this touch bar as it is so convenient. If Apple removes this, it'll be a big mistake 'cause I see that this touch bar is what really makes the pro models stand out

The Touch Bar is good

Adjusting the volume quickly while working on music is a pain with the Touch Bar. Will never buy another Mac with this feature.

What would be cool if they kept the buttons but make it clear so leds in the bottom will display function of the buttons

I love the Touch Bar, I bought a MacBook Pro the generation before they removed it. It makes the laptop feel more fancy and cool, I honestly didn't mind it taking up space for the physical buttons

Apple would make more money in my opinion if they had one variant with touch bar and second variant without Touch Bar

Touch Bar has/had the potential to be so much more than it has been. For it to have been adopted, and therefore much more useful, it HAS to be standard on all its MacBooks. I’m ok with it replacing the function keys, but the solution lay in providing both the function keys and the Touch Bar. Let me be the new Tim Apple, this way I’ll have everything the way I like it. After all, everyone is entitled to my opinion.

touchbar was one of my reason to buy macbook pro, it looks cool and really helpful when using VS Code for coding, it shows run button and debug button thats looks professional when other see it. Hopefully it backs when I ready to buy a new one macbook pro

I think it's a pitty it's gone.

I liked the Touch Bar not just because it was so easy to use shortcuts, but because it had text suggestions. A lot of times if I needed an emoji I would type a shorthand like heart for ❤, or just a quick way to change volume and brightness with the sliders, instead of having to look down at a keyboard. Sad to see it go.

Why is it still on the 13.3 inch one

I've got a mac with touch bar and the first thing I did was to freeze the touch bar in the main functions. It's nightmare to have it changing all the time. It really was a bad idea for most users.

Well I loved headphone jack but I guess that was not used by bro users😢

In one word: useless

People never like change. As someone who started with a Touch Bar MacBook i hate that the change it back. But that might also be because almost every program I use is also specialized in having those features. It’s just so much better with it.

Checking the comments I realised many people love the touch bar. it was a revolutionary concept for me which worked out well for most of the people. When the say pro users disliked it, they should consider a kind of touch hybrid bar. I found this bar really cool, good, and makes your day to day work easier.

Didn’t realize they got rid of the Touch Bar until after I upgraded. Very disappointed because I loved the Touch Bar. Almost want to return this 14 inch computer for the 13 inch. Probably will.

Apple still sells the Touchbar MacBook Pro with the M2 Chips.

Me and everyone I know loves the Touch Bar. No one hates the Touch Bar. Apple saves money and that’s why. They make more money this way. It sucks. I hate function keys. They’re old antiquated and useless nowadays.

Touch Bar was/is awesome I use it all the time.

There is no reason to have full height function keys on a laptop. There is just no purpose. Apple instead of wasting perfectly fine space like this could have had an option to have the touchbar above the function keys. HP did this in 2009 for their quick launch bar in their DV6 series. Apple has no excuse to not do this now. There is still a demand for the touchbar, which is why the old design for the MacBook Pro is so popular, which is why Apple still keeps it as an option

It really is a shame apple didn’t do more with it, it definitely could’ve been a selling point for their pro models. It’s also sad that if you buy a touchbar model in 2023 you’re not going to get much use from it because it’s discontinued

I personally feel this is a feature better utilized for everyday users, ppl who are more likely to buy a Mac air than a pro.

I finally got reacquainted with mac os with a refurbished 2019 model and I love the bar. Makes the laptop feel special and many simple functions feel more intuitive.

Damn I really really like the Touch Bar. It’s the entire reason I got a MacBook Pro actually.

I really like the touch bar tbh, I had a 2016 macbook pro with the touch bar and I enjoyed using it, It also had touch id which the 2016 macbook pro with no touch bar didnt have touch id
