I love this scene man

I remember when I saw this scene the first time and I was a kid. To be honest I don't know how to explain what I felt but my eyes were glued on the screen wondering what the fuck was going on it was agonizing and creepy really. Nothing at ALL was going through my mind it was as silent as it was throughout this scene. Man it's just as terryfying as it feels watching it now like it did 17 years ago.

this scene is done so right. the lack of tense music, the insects not having those "sounds" that these sci fi movies make them have. almost all of these sci fi movies involving giant insects make them have this screeching sound when its killed, hit, or if they're preparing to lunge. this movie didn't add those and i really appreciate them for that. also, the lack of gore is so fitting somehow. there's no decapitation, no faces melting, just pure, slow, agonizing way of being eaten alive by giant worms.

Scenes like this make you appreciate that even if all those bugs existed, they wouldn't attack you all at once as they are very different species and real bugs don't do that
