Google's pricing for these phones are so baffling to me. Less than a year after releasing the Pixel 5 at $699, they introduce the pixel 5a which essentially has the same specs as the 5 but for $250 less.

Omg,stay away from pixel!! i had 2xl for years, google with latest update crashed all 2xl cameras,that all old users would be forced to buy new pixel phones, so i was stupid enough to order 5a model, received it today, but phone was defective, coudn't receive any sms messages and android updates didn't work. It took ALL day reach google customer support to return that peace of crap and they still managed to charge me restocking fee. Bye Bye google!!!! My suggestion is not to listen to these sold fake reviews and stay away from Pixel products now. Google customer service is horrible (if you'll be lucky to reach them in India)

4a 5G user here. 5a remove Laser Auto Focus module (PDAF), it might be affecting the focus performance in low light environment if compare with 4a 5G.

There's something I wanted to ask. It might seem like a stupid feature. But it's something I've grown to love on my Huawei phone. Can you take a video using both front and back camera at the same time? Like video in video.

Taking photos, people are mentioning that the 5a's photos are lacking in refinement compared to the 5. Some say it has it do with the lack of the laser focus sensor on the 5a. A very small detail and not necessary but not sure if that's the reason.

Google has very intrusive RAM management and it is def a pain and a negative for me. So there is a trade-off with that extra battery life, a worse user experience? I find overnight the Pixel 4a 5G only keeps 4 apps in memory and the Pixel 5 only six, where my iPhone can keep 18 plus with only 4GB RAM (not intensive apps)!

I would say that the Pixel 5a 5G is probably a $350 phone at the most, so wait for flash sales and buy it then? In the UK I got the Pixel 4a 5G in one of those sales for £400, still a bit expensive, but closer to a sensible price compared with what else you can get in Europe. In the US it is an anti-consumer market with little competition so Google can get away with OTT prices? I await the Pixel 6/Pro and hope it is more exciting than the Pixel 5a, which seems a rather iterate low-key upgrade?
