Great vid.
Ответитьgreat video!
Ответить
Great video. I have a c300 mark II and I have no trouble with it. However, my EOS 5D mark IV I can’t seem to get it right. Now I know about View assist!!! Oh thank you for the information. Subscribing now.
ОтветитьOh my Lord! Wish I’d found this video two years ago. 😅 Better late than never! This was super informative & the presentation was 🤌. Thank-you!!
ОтветитьThis was really helpful thank you, I really need to learn how to grade clog
ОтветитьIm just now learning some of this stuff the hard way....& videos like yours are GREAT for us amateurʻs with no field mentorship.
Do we ALWAYS want to keep ISO at 400 when shooting in log? What about higher than 400?
Also, how does shutter speed affect log footage & how well it can be edited in post?
Subbed & liked. THANK YOU!!
When using histogram correctly (being just in the middle) you usually overexpose by 2 and 3 stops.
ОтветитьI recently shot a Music Vid On My E0S R with CP3 cinema Lens on CLOg using 400 min ISO but the the post DI there were lots of Grains In The Shadows I Fixed some amount of that In DI but still the Grains were terribly visible..would really appreciate any1 who can help me out with the solution for that problem 😊
ОтветитьOne of the best video to understand C Log..really appreciate you efforts for making such amezing Content and helping out filmmakers ❤❤
ОтветитьHi, quick question - what does it mean by exposure at +1 or +2. Is this the ISO? So +1 is 400 ISO and 1000 ISO is +2?
ОтветитьThank you so much. Now I got to investigate which log to use
ОтветитьHello again, I'm here to write things on the wall again. Okay bye.
ОтветитьVery useful information. Thank you 😊
ОтветитьExpose to the right!
ОтветитьHi, Say I don't want to use lower iso then using an external ND filter or a circular polarizer would be good.outdoors while using c-log.
ОтветитьUr a legend!!!!
Ответитьas both camera AND guitar geek, ive just been casually watching to get some handy info and BOOM Axe FX II outta nowhere! Nice piece of gear and a neat video
ОтветитьExcellent! My R6 is smiling
ОтветитьThis is so helpful! I’m confused about how you’re determining “correct” exposure for the foggy day though. How is your camera saying that it’s correct?
ОтветитьQuestion Harv: So you think its more accurate to adjust my exposure using CLOG on the screen instead of using the LOG assist feature to judge/adjust exposure? Then switch on LOG assist just to see how it looks.
ОтветитьWhat is your shutter speed? Is this for video or pictures?
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks!
ОтветитьThank you so much! You reviewed every setting i wanted to know :))
ОтветитьThanks a lot for this, just got my R6 and this is certainly helpful. Greetings from Hong Kong 🌆
ОтветитьIs this for original c-log? Not clog 2 or 3
ОтветитьWonderful video! Does anyone happen to know what the native base ISO is for the 70D is?? Thanks
ОтветитьDude, I was wondering why my colors shifted so bad ....it's because I used 100 iso with c-log on my EOS R. Thanks for this video.
ОтветитьExactly what i was looking for THANK YOU SIR 👏
ОтветитьHARV!!!!! fuakkk i love this dude.
ОтветитьNice Axe FX
ОтветитьYou should actually start with correct light on your face. Not overexposing. You lost some highlights in background. C log gives 5.3+ stops above mid gray while standard picture style is around 3.5 stop above.
ОтветитьExcellent explanation and walk-through of the variations. When you over expose, do you do this by bumping up ISO or exposure compensation? Is there a preferred option, or one to stay away from? Thanks for your help.
Ответитьbest love it video
ОтветитьBig ups to ya & Thanks! This is a wonderful and informative video! Does this also apply to Cinestyle used on Canon's lower end cameras such as the t7i?
ОтветитьThanks H - are you going to get a R5/6
ОтветитьNice and informative, thanks for the vid!
ОтветитьThis is by far the best, most informative c log video I've seen yet. Thank you for helping me figure out why my videos look like doo doo!
ОтветитьGreat video. Simplified explanation. I was shocked at iso 100. I knew it limited DR but not as bad as that.
Look forward to the next video 👌
I shoot SLOG but I wanted to hear you talk about exposing for shooting in a color profile
ОтветитьHi Harv I am new to video and I found this video fascinating I shoot with a Nikon Z6 and I’m wondering is the same holds true that you spoke about I recently upgraded my camera to prores raw and I have atomos ninja five recorder and I want to start learning more about this do you have any advice for an nikon user?
ОтветитьGreat examples and explanation, Harv. Your experience and Carlos Quintero's analysis and recommendations in C-Log for the EOS R are very much in agreement (If you haven't downloaded his C-log LUTS for the EOS-R you might find them very good---excellent even. I find they work great for the EOS R as well as my XC-15---a great camera in and of itself.
I like that you used the histogram rather than the waveform, because sadly, that's all we practically have on the EOS R. IMO, every hybrid camera ought to have the option to toggle a waveform in video mode---that ought to be STANDARD!!!!!!
Anyway, Harv, this is so helpful with the examples----to step outside the Anglosphere for a brief moment---KUDOS!
Ausgezeichnet, mein Freund!
And now, as they would say on Monty Python, for something completely different.
It looks like the Mets might be able to make a run for the post season this year. Cespedes may be able to come back and make a real contribution, and in general trades have made most positions better. Marisnick is a good player----I watched him a lot with the Astros. If we could only get rid of that horrific, STUPID trade Van Wagenen made with Seattle. This has financially crippled the management---who were already harmed greatly by the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme.
If I had been Mets owner I would have fired him for that. Cano was a great player with the Yanks, but he has not aged gracefully.
What if Jake pulls off a third straight Cy Young?!? Fantastic. I'm hoping that happens. What a great, great pitcher he's turned into---in spite of the horrible coach/training staff of the Mets. The man gives the nickname "Pit Bull" a whole new understanding of the meaning of tenacity.
If he had been trained by the Astros he would be even better.
Overall, I'm thinking we might be looking at post season play for the Mets, and maybe a 90 win season---but the NL east is rough sledding with hungry fans in every park. It's not going to be a Debussy Gollywogg's cake walk by any stretch.
Harv, Didi I miss something? “Canon”?? Why? (And I’m originally a Canon FAN boy!). BUT.. Canon got left behind a while ago (didn’t they??)... and as much as I have a “Love - Hate” relationship with Sony... I can’t figure out why your’e wasting your time?...especially since I know you as a Sony A7 guy! Again forgive me if I missed something? (Like a transformative new Canon product or that you have already stated a reason for giving a $hit about Cannon?). 😂
ОтветитьCheers Harv, you answered all my questions i had with c-log about exposing and the ISO. One thing worth mentioning is the c-log to rec709 lut you can download directly from Canon. It gets you to a good place, before you grade.
ОтветитьI know you did a vid on slog a7sii a while back. And lots of people say “overexpose it” but.....overexposing on slog is still overexposing. Let me be more precise. Zebra’s at 100 is the point of no return. Log gives you more dynamic range, but it tends to be bringing dark areas up and not in bringing overexposed areas down. But the definition of “overexposed” is nuanced, and a source of confusion.
ОтветитьHi Harv! :)
