Sonic Origins Is A Massive Disappointment

Sonic 1 Forever, Sonic CD Restored, Sonic 2 Absolute, and Sonic 3 A.I.R. explain to me why we need sonic origins again?

This is one of the main reasons that mania was so good. The fans know what they want, so they decided to take the helm for the blue blur, Sega needs to hire these people on, or at least make a partnership with these people to help with their games. Sonic origins could have been absolutely amazing, and it takes everything I have to ignore the many things I find wrong. To me it is a lot of very minute issues, except for Sonic 3 and knuckles’ music, that just pile up. I just wish that Sega would stop trying to change the formula so much, stick to what works, and add onto it from there. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Their direction for the franchise has been absolutely everywhere since 2006. Sonic was classified as the rival to Mario in the early 90’s because of the standards that Sega set back in 1991, and Sonic 2 added onto what Sonic the hedgehog did, and perfected it, and then Sonic 3 and knuckles did it again. Sonic 3 and knuckles is my absolute favorite 2D Sonic game, and my favorite Sonic game period. It was headed in such a good direction, and Sega struggled to make the jump into 3D, but they did it well with Sonic Adventure, which is my favorite 3D Sonic game. Sega, and Sonic team can make great sonic games, but they keep trying to change things up so much, and be creative, when it seems like they don’t really think about what they are doing.

tbh origins wasn't that bad at all, twitter overexaggerated the hell out of the bugs, I only dealt with one bug in the switch version which was the spike bug in 3&K.
It's a good compilation but sonic 1 forever, 2 absolute, CD restored and 3 AIR are the better versions to play.

Would've been cool that the Chaotix including Mighty appeared as playable characters. Or maybe also adding Chaotix as an extra game. With included Sonic and Tails.

I am definitely unhappy with sonic origins, mainly because not even 2 and a half hours in, (literally I only have 2.2 hours) the game said loading error and I haven't played ever since.

Sonic Origins & Origins Plus music got changed...SUCH GARBAGE for Sega® to change a LOT of tracks. EVERY company that went THIS route(Capcom® has done it with Megaman & X collections!!) Is looking FORWARD to crashing HARD...The Mega Drive & Mega CD ARE the origins...

I kinda like it if they made it cheaper yes it’s the same but you can play full screen or classic anniversary two modes and also animations that just make classic memories better

As someone who played the original Genesis games before Origins, I was used to their physics and how they worked. When I got my hands on Origins, when playing 3&K, I noticed the physics were not the same as the original. No matter. I could just go to classic mode, right?

Sega lied to me. I was expecting some emulations of the original games, but NO. Instead of it being the original experience which has it’s novelty, they just took Anniversary and made it worse! I can see what’s ahead of me in Sonic 2’s special stages, I’m not supposed to do that!

I want would have liked the unused levels from sonic 2 to come back,
ie: wood zone and the 1 act city level. not as a hidden bonus but as part of the main playthrought perhaps when playing through non story mode sonic 2 in modern mode

Sonic origins is a waste of money, because, at the end, you can emulate those games even better. Sonic Mania had original and remaked levels & Sonic Fronteirs has good reviews, this are the new Sonic games that are enjoyable. Maybe Sonic Superstars could be better

People are so overblowing the problems with this game and making it seem like just because theres like 3 things wrong with it means the whole game is bad. Its literally 3 sonic ports. They're all perfectly playable, and fun. The glitches are either minimal or hard to encounter. They definitely could've done better, especially if they just ported the music from the actual sonic 3 beta. But saying it's a "massive disappointment" is massively unfair.
