overall a nice feature but when I hover over my mouse cursor to the far left side to perform some actions on my browser or any window, the stage manager stack pops up. that is a bit annoying.
Ответитьwhy use this when you can just have them all on full screen? you still have the overview if you swipe up and have the focus of only seeing your app and nothing else. genuine question.. I don't get the point
ОтветитьI just found this feature out today with this new update
ОтветитьHmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm what’s the purpose of stage manager?🤔
ОтветитьI enjoy the grouping ability. Other than that the rest is utterly useless. I find multiple desktops to be far more efficient. Also not being able to stick apps quickly to sides or resize to fit multiple apps within screen is a shame.
ОтветитьNow, if I click an app icon to reach a preview of the open windows, the apps are all grouped. I can't select one of them to bring it to the center.
ОтветитьHow is this better than virtual desktops, as I've used in my job for the last 6 years? Cmd+Tab to switch applications, and Mac OS switches to the appropriate virtual desktop automatically. Does stage manager offer anything over and above this?
ОтветитьI always feel that Apple is the worst when it comes to UX and they always prove me right!!! Just provide a good support for split view you idiots!!! Use window or ubuntu for around 6 months and you will understand how painful it is to use mac.
ОтветитьKeep in mind that if you have multiple displays (I have a Mac Mini with two displays) you need to enable “Displays have separate Spaces” in settings. Stage Manager is not in the Control Center nor will it display in the menubar if you do not do this. In Ventura, it is: System Settings - Desktop & Dock - Mission Control. Enable the separate spaces option. You have to log out/in for it to work. Was frustrating for me after I upgraded because I could not even find this feature to use it. Hope this helps others.
ОтветитьI like Stage Manager, but the app switching animation is very choppy (as if my computer can't handle the processing, but it can, it's M1). Only happens with Adobe CC applications. Anyone else have this issue? (I also have a 4K monitor). All software updated.
ОтветитьThis is stupid. Lol.
ОтветитьI'm a software developer and stage manager is great for allowing me to have a clean screen with just my coding window on it. Removing all other "things" is so focusing. It's like a zen moment.
ОтветитьThis feature is so underrated. It's the hidden window manager from Apple and it can boost productivity a lot. Using spaces can be hindering when there are too many desktops. The full screen tiling is also fairly limited (2 apps max). The State Manager seems to be the best of both worlds and it places nicely with Rectangle to adjust windows on a grid. The grouping functionality makes the state manager very useful, you have a better overview of all your states by giving up some little screen estate. I came to the conclusion that I have max 4 apps per state, but sometimes only 1 or 2. I don't feel the need to clutter things, because I can peak their contents in the state manager overview. Unfortunately, the feature is still lacking a lot of useful settings and key bindings. I can't navigate between my states using the keyboard, I can't move the state overview to the right (unless I want the dock on the left, so the functionality is already there). Please give us more options to customize this feature and navigate it properly via keybindings.
ОтветитьI hate this idk why people like this. I like having several windows open so when I like to split the screen I have to do a lot of work to have it on and not automatically fix it
Ответитьawesome!
Ответитьis there a shortcut to switch between stage manager apps?
ОтветитьWhat do I do if I'm stuck while doing recovery and it won't let me out
ОтветитьIs it possible to add an app window to the current group when I click its icon in the dock?
ОтветитьCan anybody explain to me in detail how to set this up? I have a 2017 macbook air and don't seem to have this feature
ОтветитьI dont like the stage Manager. Ich brauche etwas, was wie bei Windows funktioniert.
I need something that works like Windows. Preview apps when switching between them. Preview in the taskbar would also be very helpful.
Would this helpful to project something on one window and we can work on other windows at the same time?
ОтветитьStage manager on Mac? 😂😂
Ответитьwish there was a way to have stage manager on one display and not the other
ОтветитьWhy is stage manger turned off on 13.3.1? I can't turn it on.
Ответитьhow do I ungroup them?
ОтветитьI needed to see this. This was helpful.
ОтветитьAlso I still just use ShiftIt to be able to quickly move and tile windows on the screen. Have been using it for 10 years and it's the best.
ОтветитьWhen I click anywhere on the desktop, stage manager will not get out of the way. Is this a configuration thing?
ОтветитьI dunno - this isn't a benefit for me. Command + tab has always done the trick. heavy mouse dragging and clicking only slows me down!
ОтветитьFor a better explanation, see the MacMost review for stage manager. Gary makes the best Mac videos.
Ответитьgreat new feature, so intuitive
ОтветитьI really started to strongly dislike Stage Manager as it was constantly throwing windows around that I wanted to have together. Now I learned a few things, it may actually be much better than I thought. Also, shift+click on a window opens it on top of what is on center screen already, I found out by trying out things. But hey, note to self: RTFM. 😅 Thanks, Apple, I’ll try better next time, haha.
ОтветитьI don't understand why they made this instead of the feature to pin certain apps in a mobile view so you can summon let's say Slack or messenger without covering the main window
Ответитьwhy not use all apps in full screen?
Ответитьlet's say I have tow windows in one group in stage manager, How to separate them into tow different groups, where every group has only one window of them?
ОтветитьThank you. I've been using Stage Manager for a while. I've been frustrated with it. I checked this two minute video and you solved my problems. Specifically, how to group apps into one window, and how to list out the windows open for a particular app. Concise. I'm gong to subscribe to your channel now.
ОтветитьWhen I click on the desktop, stage manager does not move out of the way like shown here. Dunno what that's all about.
ОтветитьI prefer to use SPACE.
ОтветитьWhy can't you just fix command tab so that it would allow to cycle through open windows of running apps instead of over engineering things?
For christs sake, I've been using mac for every day work for 7 years now and still can't cycle through browser windows efficiently....
yo, as a windows user, this seems a joke (click outside the window activates the desktop mode, I have to click in the stack to switch between opened windows) idk, why not like windows or linux?
ОтветитьBetter start adding MacOS features to M1 iPads, than vice versa.
ОтветитьStage manager is very interesting. I don’t use it enough 😯
ОтветитьLove this. Groups my OBT , one big task together. So I can do multiple OBT’s a day.
ОтветитьI don't know how this happened but I've spent over a year doing things like adding space margins between my multiple windows to mimic exactly what stage manager solves here. I love this feature so much, took a few trials go get the hang but wow; everything feels even more organised now.
Even media keeps playing when I switch to a new tab, making it superb for some sort of PIP mode.. I just love this; thanks to the teams at Apple.
You can do the exact same thing with virtual desktops. You can also assign keyboard shortcuts to switch to a specific desktop, so you can quickly switch between desktops with a group of windows.
ОтветитьThis is sick, I can't use it anymore. soon apple will obsolete it. It's a useless feature.
ОтветитьIn my mac.. click thing is not working. Where you told that a click clears desktop but i did the same thing but no response the app still stays on and i have to minimise it manually.
ОтветитьI don't get it, nor its behaviour. And why would we need this if there is already the Dock and multiple desktops?
It also makes Mission Control (set to interactive corner) move in slowmotion, which is super annoying. I want it to be snappy!
Even moving a window around is now in slow motion. It was faster on MacOS 7!!!
It also can only have 4 stacks? Some of the open applications are not even showing.
The idea might be good, but the execution is not to Apple standards.
