Not sure what your problem with the Autel Nano is, but I have a nano+ and have been very happy with it.
I'm moving away from DJI to Autel due to their difference in geo-fencing implementation. On more than one occasion I've researched a flight, traveled to the location and my DJI units have either refused to fly or flew with significant reduction in envelope. Granted, this is rare - but it's none the less annoying. Not an issue with Autel - it will inform me that I'm in an area with restrictions, but allows me to fly within those limits. I also am in an area with a LOT of restricted airspace, so there is that.
I'm not a professional - I shoot for my personal enjoyment and have had 5 DJIs, 3 Autels and a Yuneec. I travel (mostly by motorcycle) and I WILL have one with me wherever I go.

Its refreshing to hear someone be honest about running a drone for beginners and actually hear the good things and bad things to expect. The truth from actual experience is what really helps me for anything new I'm getting into. It sucks when someone tells you a product is decent when really they are trash or don't do anything close to what the marketing material says. THANK YOU SIR.

What about for offroad when you are driving by yourself?

I still have a mini 1 and it is plenty for me, but i know some people need a little more, and also micro USB is pretty frustrating, but someone could get a mini SE or mini SE 2.
