The Need to Be Honest at the Start of Relationships

what the hell is going on with the animation?? and why is no one mentionning it

It's hard to follow any advice from this channel if the other person hasn't watched this as well, or in general isn't very self reflective. It's annoying and leaves me feeling vulnerable for no reason.

I realised that honesty is probably most important, because when you don't say it out loud, it brings out in other actions how you feel truly, not even years later but almost immediately. It's the scariest thing to be honest, especially when you're coming from a very vulnerable place.

Sharing things honestly at the start of a relationship is all good and well, but being the person who was guilty of "seeking out a furtive life", how do I share that reason for the break up of my marriage with the next person I want to build a relationship with? How will they ever feel they can trust me?

im confused. How often do people lie in relationships at the start. I don't lie or bend the truth about things. I kind of like being very honest with what i like or dislike and then making that a part of the relationship. Its fun to disagree on things like that.

Every partner should be honest about themselves when they see theres a possibility to take it to the next level.

Relationship built on lies is actually cheating...even if they think they are lying on small stuffs. Every lie (unless its for some stupid pranks or something) is cheating imo. They are doing so for their own selfish needs.

Truth might not be pleasant but its better to find someone who can accept the truth.

This realization was huge for me. My goal was always to keep someone for as long as possible, which often meant editing my true self. Now I know that my goal is for find the right person for me, which requires that im honest with others about who I am. It has led to more genuine connections.

Don't lie about your personality and interests when you first meet people because then you might become friends or date an incompatible person. They might be bad morally or you won't be able to do what you want in the relationship so you'll be unhappy and resentful.

This video popped up in my feed a year and a half ago, when I met my former ex partner. I did not bother to watch it back then. Our relationship ended yesterday, I couldn’t put up the the incompatibility anymore, and so did he feel it as well, even thought he pushed it so hard to make me change. None of us were ready for a commitment, i réalise it now, both him and I. I am watching this video now thinking that from now on, I shall be no one else but myself, and I will demand this from anyone who wishes to share my life, and if people aren’t themselves, then I won’t accept them.
