New Year, New Gear? 😆 Who's picking up this bad boy?
Ответитьwait you held that zoom tamron lens up but didnt say anything about it haha
ОтветитьHow is this lens combined with the Sony 6400 camera?
Ответитьseems like Batis is better
ОтветитьPasadena!
ОтветитьThis 35 mm is amazing. I don’t need 24mm for wide scene shots in video, for products and talking head videos the 35 mm is literally perfect for any subjects in video.
ОтветитьBetween this and the 20-70mm f4 for my first lens on the 7ac ii
Thoughts?
today I saw this video. Great video for me to select 35mm 1.4 GM.. Thanks Jason~~
ОтветитьPerfection is Vong! Great review.
ОтветитьBought it love it
Ответить24mm vs 35mm who is bast
ОтветитьIf use 35 for cooking video recommend or not sir ?
ОтветитьYour footage helped me a lot in choosing lenses It's a great video great 35GM!
ОтветитьHas sony updated the firmware for this yet and or will they?
ОтветитьYes Link!!!😂😂😂 thanks for the review!
ОтветитьYo bro Sometimes you look like KRS-One.. Its a compliment! Btw.. should I go for a Gm 35 mm wide angle lens for real estate videos? On a sony A7iii.
ОтветитьIts my all day lens with the 24-105 F4
It is so magic, light, fast and sharp.
So this lens or the Batis 40mm? The Batis is cheaper used. @jasonvong
ОтветитьMay I ask your opinion? First off, that auto focus is looking great! Do you think this is the right lens for me? Here’s my story.
My videos are product reviews hands-on and close up. I want my shots as clear and crispy has possible with no blur except the background. Current problem: I’m using iPhone 13 Pro Max and it likes to be blurry. I guess because of the f1.5 or who knows what else. No matter the distance I hold my object, the camera seems to only want to focus on one aspect of the product. The buttons. The triggers. The handle. It…can’t just do all of it. Or when I get a good shot, it loses focus quick. So i spend way too much time on the recording process. Doing take after take trying to get it all in focus. This adds a lot of time to the editing process too because I have to sift through all of that.
So that’s what has me looking at a big boy camera! Not to mention, I have been wanting to upgrade my quality and this seems like a way to kill two birds with one stone.
So, with very limited knowledge, but learning quite a bit in the past few weeks, I have been looking into getting probably a Sony A7C. And a good lens. This way I can use it for the videos and the live streaming and also maybe take it to family functions on the holidays.
So. I’ve spent the past few weeks narrowing it down and being set on the Sony 24mm 1.4 GM. But thankfully, I didn’t make the purchase because that might not be the best decision. See I was looking into 24mm because Google said iPhone 13 PM was 26mm equivalent. It wasn’t until today taking selfies in the mirror with my new lack of facial hair, that I once again realized that what you see in videos, looks more like real life, whereas photos on the iPhone kind of distort your proportions or something. So I flipped back-and-forth between the camera and the video until once again realizing, the video crops in on the camera! So I had it wrong this whole time!? I was wondering, because when I was looking at some of this wide 24mm footage, I was looking at it, worried that it would distort my images.
That said, do you think 35mm would be closer to what iPhone videos are? 16:9 I think? I really like the field of view of my current videos I think. And my objects never get distorted, even if I hold them close to the camera.
Is this the best lens to get for my type of content? I need good autofocus that will keep all of my product in view so I don’t have to constantly change focus or settings. And I need something that lets me get close to the object. Macro would be dope but not required. If you look at my video you can get an idea. I’m actually wondering now if 35mm 1.8 would be a better fit for me, allowing me to get closer. I won’t lie, those sample close-up shots of the figurine. Did not look very promising. That’s the type of shot. I hate. Only a part of the toy is In focus. Then, again, if I shoot 4K, which I have never done, I can always just crop in with editing, and I think we would be OK. I even do that now, but you lose a little bit of resolution.
Would you say I’m on the right track for getting a solution for myself? I think it will be nice in general just not having a fixed aperture but maybe that’s not what the problem is to begin with. But maybe! Thankfully, my set up and continent is pretty consistent. So I think once I dial in the settings, I don’t have to change anything. Just keep my set up the way it is and press record.
Honestly, yeah, after watching someone else’s video of the Sony 24mm, I’m thinking I may not need all of that aperture that I thought I needed. Because from his videos and your photo, the background blur just looks excessive. I mean before the technology age that could’ve been cool but now it just looks like you hardcore edited it lol.
ОтветитьJason: complains about the weight of the za 35 1.4.
Me: Laughs in 200-600mm
Good lens
ОтветитьWe need 35mm 1.2 Gmaster
ОтветитьAmazing lens! Great Video!
Ответитьreally clean! I just dropped a short film and would love for you to check it out and share your thoughts!
ОтветитьHey Jason, any idea what this lens is like on an apsc sensor?
ОтветитьHave g master 24-70 lens was thinking getting this 35 mm next but comments here are saying no sticking with my 24 lens now I no the 24 lens has better blur probably than my 2470 mm but all you professional shooters are what would you go with for shooting video? What would be your next lens? I want a lens where I can go even closer and tighter and being super sharp focus and I wanted to be a G master lens.. Thanks
ОтветитьDo you think someone should get this if they have an APSC camera like the ZV E10? Lens are naturally expensive and this is for $1300-$1500. A regular E mount lens would be for about $600 - $800. For a few more bucks I could get the GM. Also it's likely I'll upgrade to a full sensor camera. Not right now but in the future and I would already have a full sensor lens and wouldn't need to try and sell the APSC lens. Watchu think?
ОтветитьI’m torn between this and the sigma, send help🥲
ОтветитьBro, ur the best. Thank you 🙏🏽
Ответитьthe best lens ever made
ОтветитьLove your reviews Jason...very helpful.
Ответитьthis rocked thank you for the rundown
ОтветитьJust ordered this. Had too, no way it can’t be in your camera bag if you have a full frame Sony Camera. People complain about the price but you gotta pay to play.
ОтветитьBeing naturally funny is a big thing in your presentation. Great
ОтветитьGreat review as always. I traded the 1.8 version for the 1.4 version because the focal length is sooo perfect for just about everything
ОтветитьCould you do a comparison of the 35GM vs the Tamron 35-150 @ 35mm?
ОтветитьDo you need to use a flash with this lens, I never see a flash being use is the internal light that good?
ОтветитьI started with the nifty 50 to see if being a hobby photographer was for me, but man I really want the 35mm now
ОтветитьDo you know what you don't have on this chanel? A comparison of all 3 lenses from Sony on 35mm focal.
I'm looking to buy a 35, I got a zeiss 35 1. 4 but i need another one, I'm looking between 35 1.8 and G master, any chance of a video comparison?
What about focus breathing for video? I heard it’s pretty bad. Thoughts?
ОтветитьLove the lens but it’s so heavy
ОтветитьPerfection? Focus breathing is sooo bad!!! are you blind ?
ОтветитьDo you typically get two review lenses so you can shoot the review using the same lens that is in shot?
ОтветитьYou made me laugh. Loved the video and the review. Thanks! 😊😊😊
ОтветитьNot even with my Best Buy discount I can’t afford it.
ОтветитьWatching this trying to figure out if the 35 is a better value than the 50 1.2. Sometimes I feel like the 50 is too tight, but then i always find myself cropping things in when I use a wider lens. A 50 1.2 is kind of a halo lens for me, or should I "settle" for the 35. $1300 vs $2000 🤔
ОтветитьGive away 😆 for sony users 😆
