The curves vs. contrast thing was a real revelation for me, since I always used contrast and sometimes the result felt a tad too flat for me.

Slog sucks

I always shoot 100fps with log3, can't use cine4 as it doesn't have any dynamic range. so what what is the workaround ? is it aliasing vs dynamic range?

What about HLG? Do you prefer slog over HLG

I like cine4 due to the fact that the iso can stay lower.

So helpful, even in 2021 a couple years later. Do you have another video on straying from native/dual native ISO? I'm unsure how far exactly I can stray (in a real world run and gun setting with NO grey card)!

Excuse my ignorance but I am very new to all this. What do you mean when you say over exposed and under exposed, you? Is it something you do with the camera itself and it's settings? Like ISO? Or like with lights when you are filming?

I have a problem with the iso. When I set my a7r III slog3 my minimum iso is 800 and cant get it lower. Do you know how to change this :)

Have you tried HLG3? It seems to have DR in between SLog2 and 3 and grades a bit easier after a Rec709 conversion as well as the 125 lowest iso :) Great video dude!

So I use Slog2, but what aperture/F number should I use? I shoot small real estate and the windows are always so blown out. I need to master slog2, please help!!!

Thank you so much. This is exactly the information I was looking for for days! Just as a sidenote...Maybe I didn’t quite get what you were talking about, but when you say „aliasing“ I think you mean banding or artefacting. Aliasing is a stairs-effect along edges caused by low resolution

Never realized overexposing SLog3 footage is a thing, will remember to do so from now on cause my clips do look a bit dark.
