Evolution R210SMS+ sliding mitre saw review, first impressions and test run!

Great video but I wouldn't use the saw on metal too many times or I guess the finish you'll get on wood will deteriorate.... I've just unwrapped mine (Chrimbo pressie) and had a couple of test cuts. I only needed to alter the laser a mm to the right as everything else was bob on

I’ve got this saw it is what it is it’s no way in the league of de Walt’s Makita and the likes it runs much rougher and louder but for the money ( it’s cheap by comparison) it’s more than adequate especially for a diy,er

Not sure if you can help, I know the max depth of cut is 65mm however what is the max depth of material you can insert (even if I need to add a scrap block of wood to clear the undercarriage). I need to make a trench cut (so to create a cross lap joint) so do not need the saw to cut the full depth of the wood i.e. I have a 45x95mm that I would like to make a 50mm cut into. Is this possible?

Getting one of these delivered tomorrow... How do you find the dust bag as a lot of reviews say it's useless? I can see some dust thrown out of the back in your video but not as much as I expected given the reviews, so how much is the bag catching?

But isn’t the blade the difference not the saw?

Is possible to cut wood 10x10cm?

I've just bought the R210SMS and have to say that for the price you're getting pretty much a premium piece of kit, I didn't even have to do a set up on it, all the cuts were accurate straight out of the box.

Do you think you could cut tiles (ceramic or other)neatly without breaking them?

Hi had you any problem fitting the blade, did the spindle lock work ok when you were tightening the blade? the one I just bought has no positive stop so I can't tighten the blade properly.

Hi Andy, been looking through some of your videos. Your doing some good work there, congratulations. I've had my Evolution R210SMS+ sliding mitre saw about 6 months now and I've only ever had one major problem with this saw and that's the fact that if any of your off-cuts happen to be just slightly smaller than a snooker cue, it will inevitably fall down into the channel below the blade.and you'll find that you are spending more time fishing them out with a variety of tools than you are cutting wood. I now have a zero clearance plate and the difference is immense, especially in the cut at the back of your stock. So Andy, could that be the subject of your next video ?

Hi, watching Vids while waiting for my R185sms + to arrive. I'll be mounting it on a spare B & D workmate. Normally buy Dewalt but Evolution gets some great reviews. Polite advice - remove dust bag when you cut metal - spark + sawdust don't mix.

Hello young man, Having a quick look through your channel before I set off to repair an old cattle grid made out of some narow mining or similar railway line. I have the Evo S355CPS metal cutting saw which I bought last July. It has done a bit of work cutting through some chunky steel and it will get used today but powered via my welder generator so we will see how it fairs off a mobile supply? To be fair, Evo stuff is good quality for the price and having seen this review I might just buy one of those saws because it will do compound angles.

What mitre stand are you using?

Great review with good analysis on the features of the saw and what it can cut through - top lad!!!

I think the biggest downside to this saw is the 1 inch arbor. It really limits your selection of readily available good wood blades such as DeWalt, Diablo etc.

Dust bag is rubbish, use vacuum. Sawdust looks much better on black. And lastly every decent tungsten carbide blade will cut plastic, composite and black nails., that's the TC what makes the job.. Only pluses are extra clamps, dust cover and longer wire. Everyone gets excited about cutting "metal" but evolution mentions in manual that it can cut mild UNGALVANISED steel.

I have one of these, the blade guard sounds a bit rattley when slowing down after a cut is this normal or is there a easy fix

How has the small Forrest axe held up?

I'm impressed with that blade..... but what about the saw itself? How well built is it? How much play is there in the sliders? How accurate are the angle gauges? Any play in the hard stops? Etc.
