Sony A6400 Animal Eye Autofocus (Firmware 2.0)

I was using Nikon Z5 and then sold it because of it's horrible autofocusing performance.
Now i use Sony A6400.autofocusing performance is brilliant in comparison with Z5.

The A6400 and Sony GMaster 100-400 struggle to eye autofocus walking or hopping birds. Most of the time, it focuses on the entire body, meaning the F stop has to be at F8 or something to get an overall focused image. Idk if the a6400 is not good at bird eye autofocusing, but wish it was better. Switching to the a7iv soon, hope it's not the case with that as well.

The shortcuts was a game change for myself since now I can easily switch from Animal to Humans so quick! Thank you!

Is animal eye af in a6400 the same as in the more expensive models like a7r3 or a9? My a6400 couldnt seem to detect birds' or small animals' eyes to focus.

What's lens that your suggestion for taking photo​ of dog and cat?

Bought the Sony a6400 (with SEL 35-135mm and SEL 1018) three months ago, my first and only "big" camera. Has been sitting in the camera bag most of the time. Watched the video for motivation, entertainment, and education. Any recommendations? Thanks!

should I buy a6400 or other cheap camera sir?

I don't understand why sony cannot push this update to the a6000, a6300, a6500, cameras which already have eye auto focus.

Ahhhh but the real question is, if there’s both a 🐶 and a 🐱 in the image which does it focus on 🤔 I think we all know the answer to that one 🐶

When DPReview TV reviewed this camera, they asked other photographers what they expected of it, and Jim Fisher expected “pupil detection and nose hair detection”!
Maybe in firmware 3.0?

Its crazy that cameras can do this. Move the lens focus mechanism in real time practically. Seems like Sony have beefy processors
