my car is cheaper than ur bike i feel so poor now
ОтветитьGreat, honest comparison. Followed by common sense advice. Thank you.
I really appreciated the explanation of why to start with a "cheap" bike, make upgrades as you go along and then consider buying something more..
Seems like Seth got scammed on this one. Paid more for less bike. Less weight and not even innertubes? Smh
Ответитьgive them to Sam Pilgrim and the way he tests/destroys bikes he will let you know !!!!.
ОтветитьIf all bikes cost $13k then you would hardly have a sport at all. Lower priced bikes get more people out on the trails and riding, wrenching, and generally having fun. At the end of the day...if your riding skills suck it doesn't matter if you're on a $13k bike or a $400 bike.
Ответить13000$ and no rearshock😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьMy first mountain trail experience was in a 200 dollar walmart bike. Lol it did not make it half way lol.
Then I tossed it, got me a used specialized pitch comp upgraded it put about 1700 dollars into it. I love that bike rides so good super good climber. A year later I got me a trek full suspension the remedy 9.7. That was a 5k dollar. Why do my hobbies have to be so expensive 😫 fishing and hunting is another topic.
13k and no rear suspension? Why?
ОтветитьThe bike doesn't matter as much as the dealer. I was wondering through a shop, and a guy walked in with a carbon frame road bike that was 10k on the floor. Dude was pissed and saying that this was wrong. Bike shop guy
was deflecting and rude until the guy, in full kit with the bike, handed him the receipt that he was the salesman. 400, 13k. Buy from a reputable business.
13k for a bike with no rear suspension???
Ответить13K bicycle is a scam.
ОтветитьBeen watching you for about a decade. Watched you move from Jacksonville to Asheville. I still have your face sticker on a few coolers and my Ranger. Still have your “Seth’s Bike Hacks” t-shirt.
ОтветитьSo how many years would you have to take the Walmart back in time for it to be a high end bike?
ОтветитьJust from the thumbnail i can say that the second bottle holder costs $12600
ОтветитьMy Ebike weighs as much as the Ozark trail bike...
ОтветитьHaving spent 4k building a super aggressive hard tail I can say money does make a massive difference. Some parts I admit aren’t worth it but if you buy the best frame, forks wheels and brakes and pedals you can you’ll be solid. Geometry is definitely the killer and despite the fact my bike is steel and a fair bit bigger than my sisters entry level hard tail it weighs the same and rides 100 times better for 10x the price
Ответить13k for a bicycle is retarded.
Ответитьlol great video..... yea after the overall comparison on the average rider. 2-4k bike is probably more then you will ever require. I know i will never compete in a pro circuit so its really hard to spend that kind of doe for a weekend warrior.
ОтветитьThe scale of value and performance gets very bad for the super expensive bikes because as you eluded to in the video, you really arent getting that much more rideability for the money. Like you said, you're probably are not even getting twice the performance for 32X the cost. So IN A WAY, the cheaper bike is worth more because you are actually getting more performance per dollar.
ОтветитьTo pay that much for a piece of titanium with some fancy shifter and an airless fork... Is just absurd. I don't see the price representing a real value of that bike. At most maybe a 5k for it. To me is just a rip off. with those money you literally buy yourself the tools to start building bikes. And when i say building i mean what every bicycle company does. Build frames and buy the rest of the parts then sell them to you at double the price.
ОтветитьI still drive a 1997 Ford Ranger (aka The Stranger). I'll go with the Walmart and have fun with upgrades.
ОтветитьYou should order a halfords carrera for a review pleeeaaase 😂
Ответить13000 vs 400. Really weird flex dude.
ОтветитьI have been rocking a trek x cal for over a decade and yes every part but the frame and fork have been replaced. Yes I have more money in rims then I spent on the bike originally.
Ответитьindustry nine hub is annoying
Ответитьcan you give me the 400$ bike :)) i need one
ОтветитьPrime flex brother... Awesome content
Ответить13k for a hardtail? wtf
ОтветитьKickstand mount wooow😮😮😮😮
ОтветитьWhen are you going to start making bikes??
Ответитьmy brake rotors are 622mm sucker 😂
nothing beats rim breaks
I’ve been riding for about 76 years now. As a kid, it was just a bike, no idea of the brand names or specifics. As an older man in the 70s I was riding for exercise so weight didn’t matter. Now, as an old man weight doesn’t matter again because I have pedal assist. I have been thinking about mountain biking lately, So I think I will go with the Ozark Trail and stick a motor on it. Thanks for the review.
ОтветитьI've always found it silly that some folks will spend thousands of dollars to shave a pound or two off their bike, even while being 10-15 pounds overweight. just eat a little better, cut the weight off your body and get in better shape while you're at it. Much cheaper too. Nice review, thanks for sharing! I've actually seen a few decent 4-500 bikes at big box stores lately. If you're not riding every week or hitting difficult trails, you rarely need more than about $800 worth of bike these days. Used to be you had pay big bucks to get discs, hydraulics and air shocks, now every sub $1000 bike has those components. I have a 1998 Schwinn Moab 1 with full XTR components that was like $2500 back in the day and now $900 bikes are probably better. I still love it though.
ОтветитьDang I thought the walmart bike was gonna be better.
I had a magna glacier point mtb from the late 90s that still holds up. Just recently bought a cheap Amazon ebike called a totguard 26. Sometimes cheaper still gets the job done. Lol
great vid man , totally agree with you
ОтветитьTHE TITANIC JOKE :)
ОтветитьI'm surprised you went with 29 inch wheels
ОтветитьIt's not worth $13,000 it cost 13,000
Ответитьwho the fk pays 13K for a hard tail lmao
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video, I recently spoke with "bikers edge" on a comment thread wondering about different levels of components and their performance. This video answered everything I was pondering. Thank you so much!
ОтветитьHow is an aluminum frame mountain bike 32 pounds? My old steel mountain bikes were less.
ОтветитьReminds me of the time I wanted to take my bike to the local hardware store for a tune up. Old mongoose walmart special I got for about 130 buck in the early 2000s. Guy proceeds to try and offer me a used bike in stock or a Trek they sell. I was little miffed especially when I stopped in earlier and the guy I talked to(different person as I recall) said they'd perform the work. Told that second guy for the price of a new bike to contain the same feature as my bargain bin, I expect there to be an engine, and I walked out of there without anything done to the bike.
Cycling isn't a major hobby of mine, and I dont pay much attention to trends and tech. But I dont see why I should have to pay more than 500 bucks to have something that would work for me.
I did almost get on the bike backwards, I'm glad the pedals were labeled! 😂 That part was hilarious
ОтветитьAll that money for a hardtail jeeeeeezzzz
ОтветитьA $400 dollar bike will have a little sticker that says not to use it on trails! Seth is riding it far beyond its limits.
ОтветитьBeen looking at the Ozark trails as an ebike platform. The open triangle gives plenty of room for a battery and controller
ОтветитьIs there somewhere I can get those left right stickers separately, always getting that wrong
Ответить13000$?! It better be EXTREME lightweight 😂😂😂😂😂
Ответитьbiggest difference is one is ok, one is much funnier to ride. but a beginner will never push the bike. or even tell the difference anyway, so beginner should start with a decent cheap bike, and uppgrade as skill demand it
Ответить
