Ответитьits not a mustard smelling saus, its mustard and there isnt bacon in it
ОтветитьI will visit there soon! 🙂
Ответитьthe DZ on the really salty liquorice stand for 'dubbel zout', meaning double salty.
ОтветитьI hate the ASMR part
ОтветитьYou guys the Herring is not raw, the fish is cured in brine, and salt , the fish ferments , its not raw....Eating raw Herring would make you ill, Ive enjoyed Dutch Herring many times and love it, it the first thing I want when in Holland.
ОтветитьMusterd is not americain... And speculaas is not 'technically' Dutch. It is Dutch 100%. Same as the musterd. The Dutch were literally the first country in Europe to import mustard seeds. If anything mustard is a Dutch sauce. Definately not an American or British sauce.
ОтветитьIt was good to see the home town I left 60 years ago to migrate to New Zealand. Seeing the centre again and the big church I passed every day on my way to school. Thank you. And yes I like herring , poffertjes , bitter baller and “ mature” cheese 😂. Happy travels.
ОтветитьPeanut butter + chocolate = better
ОтветитьAs a Norwegian. We seem to have have the same food culture. We eat raw fish too and (black) liquorice. And fermented fish as well. Among other foods that may seem strange to the rest of the world.
ОтветитьThe herring is salted, not raw.
Ответитьif a fish doesnt smell, its really really fresh
Ответитьi did see Rookworst on your list but you did not eat it in the video, probably the best rookworst is in a shop called HEMA, i love that on a white bread with honey mustard sauce
ОтветитьHerring! Good staff! Like in Poland. Must be yammee.
ОтветитьTHE INSIDE OF BITTERBAL IS NAMED RAGOUT,SAME AS INSIDE KROKET, THIS IS WTH MEAT LOOK AT GOOGLE,BYE
ОтветитьWhy do non-dutchies never know how to open Hagelslag packaging? You should pull out the little piece of carton to create a pooring spout..
Ответитьit's SNACKS , not freaking food.. every freaking tourist does the same.: get some snacks and pretend this is what we eat every day.. Like every American stuffs his face with burgers and donut 24/7...🙄
ОтветитьSnacks, not food
ОтветитьI do always warn tourists to never ever accept any herring with onions already on them. If you buy a herring, demand the seller to tell you how fresh the fish is and demand the onions and the pickle on the side. Herrings are way over extremely expensive for no reason and some sellers are ordinary scamming frauds trying to hide deteriorated and old nasty fish under a mountain of cheap onions. Before you pay demand answers to the questions written above.
Ответитьno potatoes in a bitterbal, it is a ragout.
ОтветитьFunniest I think was my American friends being weirded out by hagelslag on bread but being fine with Nutella
ОтветитьAs of someone who lives and was born in Haarlem i can say goodjob you saw alot of great things about our city
ОтветитьEverything is delicious .
ОтветитьGotta love haarlem
ОтветитьDZ stands for double Salty. Dubbel Zout. Love it!
ОтветитьPindasaus (Not pindakaas) is so much better with fries in my eyes. But going more Dutch would be a patatje oorlog or with mayonaise or joppiesaus in my eyes.
Now I wanted to say chips. Maybe not totally dutch but maybe also an idea that I came up with suddenly yet again. Dutch Lays Paprika chips with a sauce called "dipsaus carnaval". (it will explain itself how to make it). Really a good snack like cheese and wine. (BTW I do not like cheese/wine) It also taste good with cucumber that sauce.
Wait I thought Jamin went bankrupt? But they are still there :O
ОтветитьThe pickle with the haring and onions is new for me, but actually a genius addative to make the fatty and ealy taste a bit less extreme for new comers.
ОтветитьI love these video's :) You guys are cute/nice together. Love the dog to :D
ОтветитьOne word, Stroopwafelicecream.😮
ОтветитьIve been living in the Netherland for the past 3 years, and if you are a cheese lover you are in Heaven, plus also the gedroogde worst that you find at the market is amazing.
ОтветитьJullie eten de haring verkeerd
ОтветитьI am living in the Netherlands for a year now, coming from eastern Europe and being really familiar with southern cuisine as well, I have to say the "amazing dutch food" is a not existing thing, sorry. I love this country but their food is horrible, I think they can match the UK on this one.
They have a few snacks that are good (bitterballen, stroopwafel) but any normal meal is just... no.... and expensive as well most of the time.
Raw herring is basically like the Dutch version of sushi! If it's fresh it's delicious, and healthy my Dutch wife loves to say. It's a fatty fish, so lots of calories and flavor. I eat mine in a sandwich style (broodje haring) with onions and pickles. It's worth noting that although Dutch people call their pickles sour, they are not. They are more sweet than sour, definitely not like American burger pickles. On a herring sandwich they work pretty well!
ОтветитьThe Kroket is French of origin….
ОтветитьAs a dutch person i love to watch this video i grew up eating zoute drop its addicting i can eat a whole bag😂
ОтветитьKeeps amazing me foreigners ae disgusted by the idea of eating raw herring while most of them have no problem with sushi
ОтветитьYou got the most ugly and tasteless bread for your sprinkles... go to a real baker and you will be blowned away
ОтветитьIf you like Haarlem, you will probably like Deventer aswell. Nice old architecture and arguably the most beautiful square in the Netherlands (Brink). Only about an hour train ride from Amsterdam. 😉
ОтветитьLmao at your pronunciations
ОтветитьIn Belgium we say muizenstrontjes hahah. Not hagelslag
Ответитьdubbel zoute drop is delightfull haha
ОтветитьJust the mere sight of a DZ ‘dropje’ made my saliva glands kick into action! I quite understand you didn’t like them, it’s an acquired taste. Liquorice allsorts (Engels drop) might be better suited…
ОтветитьAs a Dutchman, i dont like double salt drop.. brrr shivers down my spine. every other flavour is yummo.
Ответить
