I dont think they offer the v8 in the new Grand Cherokee. They stick w you the old pentastar even in top trims which is over 10 years old now and woefully inadequate for the new gen bigger GC. Not sure what they offer in L 3 row models but if its only the v6 then shame on Jeep. Zonk! My point is dont buy a 1st year new model car as Click and Clack used to say on Car talk. Case in point I use to own a 2011 jeep gc w the 5 speed and it sucked. They didnt put the 8 speed in until 2013 refresh. So its prob a good idea to NOT buy a new GC until they put some kind of new engine in for the mid model refresh. Another example... the new ford explorer super flop which you guys have not tested in 3 years since it came prob bc Ford wont let you. Where are the timberlines vs xrt/proline vs trailsports TFL? I guess Subaru already banned you from the wilderness. The GCs need something like the new twin turbo I6 hurricane found in the Wagoneers. single turbo? nah give us the whole enchilada. Geez jeep, until then the new gen GC is NOT worth the money. The pentastar is underpowered and low on torque for a modern suv esp towing and fully loaded off road. The last gen GC was a good model for Jeep bc it lasted a decade. It was comfortable and capable but not alot of cargo space due to sloping rear hatch and bloated cargo area. They also put the spare tire inside and I never understood why bc there was so much room under the rear. They could have had alot more under floor cargo storage if they had put the spare outside in that huge empty space. Alas it looks the spare is also inside on the new GC bc there is no room outside anyway. So maybe they lowered the cargo floor. I am curious as to what the new cargo area measures in cubic ft compared to the old now, its gotta be more. How about a new 2 row suv comparison... lex gx vs land cruzer vs grand c? I doubt the passport trail sp could hang until they give it the pilot treatment.
ОтветитьI’ve always loved the way those old WJs look too. IMHO, it is the best looking of the bunch.
ОтветитьI have a 95 ZJ, a 05 WK and a 12 WK2, and although I love them all, the solid Axl totally makes the difference on offroad.
ОтветитьWay overpriced and you can’t even get the V8 anymore, they want big money for something with a rent a car V6.
ОтветитьI have a 2009 Overland with a Hemi
Great for exploring California mountains
Every vehicle has hill descent control.
It's called gearing and brakes.
The only difference is, modern vehicles do everything for you, which is half of the catch-22.
Driver aides were created because too many drivers didn't know how to drive.
Now even more people don't know how to drive because of driver aides.
Tires are so important...if you slap those beefy off road tires on any of those models it will greatly improve the off road capability. The only way to accurately compare them is to put the same rims/tires on each. That being said it was a great video...nice to see the old model showing it's stuff. So affordable and yet capable, great to see that!
ОтветитьIll take the 2001, no fiat for me
ОтветитьI've read so many comments and swear I must be the only person that owns a 99 WJ 4.0l that has the Quadra Trac system. Do they suck off-road and are they the complete worse 4wd systems offered by Jeep?
ОтветитьI just got a 2019 GC Limited, fully loaded, 30K miles for 34K. I would never, ever ever ever buy this rig new. My God the depreciation is real on Jeeps it's unreal. If you wanna Jeep, get a used on a couple years old. DO NOT BUY NEW! WAY WAY OVERPRICED.
Ответить24 year Olds are still in the high school bicker stage...
ОтветитьWhen is Roman not the weak link on screen?
ОтветитьGreat video, but I think they need More perspective on what the trail is like. From the video perspective it looks like it's just a dirt road.
ОтветитьIts kinda bias because the tires on the old jeep definitely better than the A/T on the trail hawk and the street tires on the newest one.
Equal tires on all 3 and i believe youd see a better comparison
Mainstream car reviewers are so lame. The 2021 interior is bland? I just bought one because of how nice it was inside lol. Obviously these reviewers are disconnected from reality. Meanwhile the 22 that they’re comparing it to looks cheesy inside. Looks like some superglued an iPad to the dash. Tan headliner🤮. Knob shifter🤮. These reviewer just feel the need to suck off the manufacture so they can continue to get review vehicles. Useless content.
ОтветитьI miss my 2002 jeep grand Cherokee
ОтветитьYou're 99-04 seat foam uses readily available similar year Durango seat foam cushions with just a bit of trimming; Firm up nicely. There is an outfit that provides very high quality saddle leather seat replacement surfaces, not inexpensive but if you plan to do a lot of traveling why not arrive fresh.
Ответить“Really easy to understand” accidentally hit sos button
ОтветитьI feel like the different tires makes a huge diff. like sayin which is better in snow and one has snow tires. Cool to see the features in action though.
ОтветитьI know you don't have the budget to put proper AT3W tires on your rigs but the before / after would be so benificial.
ОтветитьYou know that every time you say chau at the end of the video, it feels like if I were watching a review in Argentina, where by the way, I live. Love your reviews, so complete! Thank you so much and keep up with the excellent work!
PD: You don´t have to explain people what you do, let them with the question mark.. jajaja
4XE is better. But a Rivian R1T is the best by far !
ОтветитьIf I remember correctly I owned two zjs and I think they were body on frame.
ОтветитьMy 2013 overland hemi has stitched leather…🤔 just saying…
ОтветитьOk here is the fatal flaw with your video. If you are going to do a car comparison you need to make sure you are using the same tires on all 3. Obviously all 3 of those tires are going to have different results. Especially on different vehicles. Its a bit misleading when the newer models are using stock tires and then you have dedicated tires on the 2001 😂
ОтветитьAll three generations are losers.
ОтветитьLove my WJ, it goes wherever I point it, 4" longarm lift and a 4.0 liter
ОтветитьWe own a 2004 and a 2019. I would recommend the 'two solid axle' 2004 all day long. Maintenance (you can align this yourself) and reduced degree of electronic complexity is for me.
My '04 V8 (not the Hi Output) gives me 16 - 17 MPG and plenty of acceleration. there is also a straight six option that comes in at just 30 HP less and will run forever. The 5 speed transmission
is built By Mercedes and the transfer case has locked 4-wheel option. This machine has taken me places I did not expect it could go and I can have 10 of these for the price of one new one.
like as usual: you're talking too much.
ОтветитьThis video just proves we are embracing technology for technologies own sake.
ОтветитьAwesome video, would have love you to include the WK in the comparison…was rooting for the WJ
ОтветитьDo you need to try my 99 jeep grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 L V8. There is not an option that is not in this vehicle. This is an actual 4 Wheel Drive. When you shift it into Low, then you lock the axles that will turn all four wheels at the same time.
ОтветитьRoman, what the hell happened with you. Way back when you had big Green, you were old school, all the way, then as technology came along, oh!. It's so much better, but yet, the Ford Raptor couldn't make it up Gold mine hill, you were all worried about climbing up close to a tree. But yet, after you were pulled out from being stuck, by 30 year old technology, and 30 year old technology walked up the hill, where your heated seats, and steering wheel couldn't go. Everything was back to , look at the comfy features I have. If you're objective is to go off roads, comfy seats, heated or cooled, can my 20" computer show me what my underbody camera view is, or, what's my maximum tow rating is for going rock crawling, off road , shouldn't matter.!!! If it does, than factor in your bad back capabilities too.! Oh, I'm out off roadind, bouncing around, but yet I should be completely still inside to use the touch screen control panel. Pathetic.! There was no touch screen in big Green, but yet it made it up better than a $65,000 Raptor. And then there's Tommy, getting his new Jeep 2 door, stuck, how many times,? In your new obstacle. Just because it's new, and has more gadgets, plus it's $35,000+ more money, doesn't make it better than a $10,000 old school version.
ОтветитьWhy are y’all excited for that do not be excited for that that’s hybrid it’s gonna be a nightmare to work on that stuff
ОтветитьI got bad news for everybody that watch this video I haven’t even watched it and I can tell you the older truck is gone away outperform the newer one
ОтветитьMy 2020 Grand Cherokee Overland is off lease in a few months. I know knew car prices will probably be down (some) from where they are now, but....my buyout is $28,500 and I'll have no more than 35k miles on it. I'd love some feedback, 2020 Grand Cherokee Overland with 35k miles for $28,500? Should I but it and keep for 2-3 more years?
ОтветитьReally informative video guys. I drove a ZJ Grand Cherokee (would have been great to see one of those in your comparison) from when I bought it new in 1996 to when I sold it last year. After watching your comparison, I think my next Jeep will be a wrangler.
ОтветитьListening to tommy is like listening to my kids , “just shut up 😫🔫”
ОтветитьI would NEVER trade my 2006 WJ with 4inch lift for any new model. It is so easy to maintain and parts available everywhere. Very comfortable on and off road. Great vehicle for whole family.
ОтветитьI'll keep my 2004 WJ. I could use the new crap electronic over priced New York City GC as speed bumps to drive over.
Ответитьnone of those would bbe able to keep up with my built xj
ОтветитьWill always go with the oldies. They were built better for off-road and even built to be very easy to fully modify for more extreme trails. Loved the hell out of my 05 GC before the motor blowout. Had a full stage 3 mod kit on her too!!
Will never go newer than 10 in the GC family. Newer ones are more computer than car.
The 45rfe transmissions in those jeeps won’t have any problems towing it’s the rest of the jeep that will 😂
ОтветитьMy 96 zj 4.0 will walk all over these new embarrassments.
ОтветитьMud mode gives 50 50 distribution to front and rear and loosens traction control and goes to off road 1 so why did the boy keep going to rock mode?
ОтветитьIt was dumb to put it in rock mode you should have put it in low and mud mode
ОтветитьHow are you getting 17mpg around town in a 5.7L? My 2012 Overland with the 5.7L only gets that at highway speeds and then only in Eco mode! And my 3.7L 2005 Laredo...wow...it's almost impossible to get more than 14 mpg out of that thing! My 1989 Wagoneer LTD with the 4.0L straight 6 got better mileage than either of these!
ОтветитьThe guy in the sxs...the typical owner. No cooth.
ОтветитьYou should have tested using a 2005/2006 WK with QuadraDrive 2 and the electronic limited slip differentials front and rear... one of the most capable Grand Cherokees..
Ответить
