Paying people to hack things and disclose the bug is a real thing. Google literally has a program called the bug bounty program where exploits and vulnerabilities are listed after google pays them for it. Its a good way to get secure software, and most companies that are even slightly competent hire penetration testers to find weaknesses in their security. I like the videos, but this among other remarks I've heard on this channel (my favorite was where mr wtb says that closing a foldable makes it get way worse reception because the extra layer of phone is too much for the cellular waves to go through) just shows that no research was done before making a statement to your audience as if it were fact.
