Israel Strikes Yemen’s Hodeidah Port; Houthis Vow “Huge” Response

Israel targeted a key port in Yemen’s Hodeidah city. The strikes on the vital port marked the first attack claimed by Israel. According to Houthi media, the airstrikes killed at least six people and injured over 80. The attack followed the Houthis' deadly drone attack in Tel Aviv on July 19. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said more operations against the Houthis would follow if they dared to attack Israel again. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also warned, "Anyone who harms us will pay a very heavy price." Military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari also accused the Houthis of using Hodeida “as a main supply route for the transfer of Iranian weapons". The Israeli military said that it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen after Houthis claimed to have fired ballistic missiles on Eilat town.
