Biyomon and patamon run the same store but are there at different times and have different items. Biyomon sells the super recovery. The next one you recruit is unimon you need to give them a bandage or medicine and he joins the city when he is in the shop you can buy restores.

You need the clinic next which is centaurumon.

You can learn tremor from the mudfrigimon and I think muscle charge as well. And trash mountain has no boss fight but you get the basic fishing rod and is the only place you can grind for filth moves.

You might be able to recruit ninjamon. He is one of several digimon that helps open a hidden item shop. The others include mojimon, numemon and metalmamemon as well as nanimon.

Vademon appears at night and a few more crop circles need to appear.

The weight was a big contribution as well as the brains.

Learn some fire moves.

I think the metalgreymon can learn some electrical moves.

Phoenixmon is in this but is considered an ultimate in this game.

I still don't know how I figured this game out during my childhood but I never finished it cause it was the bad pal version that soft locked. I did play it again down the line and nostalgia helped me stomach it. Even with bad guides it was manageable. Nowadays this game has been properly studied and I still feel I barely understand it. And even with all that in mind, it is my favorite game of all time. It has a sense of exploration no open world game can give me. And the charm and sense of wonder it evokes. It's captivating. I don't think any game will ever top this one for me. I may have many favorites, but this is the game I enjoy coming back to the most.

I appreciate you verbalizing notable chat messages because I frequently have corrections or explanations of various things, but frequently soon after I note to make a comment about it when I'm done the video, either a chat comment will have explained it or you've figured it out on your own. So it helps to make sure I'm not leaving comments with information you already know.

Edit: Also it's really cool that you managed to fulfill the bonus conditions to get MetalGreymon so early! MetalGreymon was what I beat the game with and he felt INCREDIBLY powerful so you should be super proud that you already have him.

Also, and I'm sorry I'm leaving so many comments, but I did really want to bring this up before your next stream. The first thing: Hit Select in battle to always display your opponent's HP, rather than only displaying it when you hit them. Very helpful but I always forget to do it.

Secondly, about the whole "oh the strategy guide gave you wrong information so it was absolutely useless" thing that gets harped on for the whole stream; I was curious about this so I went and did some research. I found multiple different evolution guides and evolution tools (there's a really good one with dropdown menus where you can fill out your Digimon's information and it will automatically tell you if you qualify for any evolutions and which ones) that describe the evolution requirements for every Digimon and I cross-referenced many of them to the guide's requirements. All of them matched up.
Sure, but maybe those guides and tools were made using this incorrect information? Some of these GameFAQs guides haven't been updated since 2000! So I found that datamine Google doc that comes up in stream, the one a speedrunner made that is being held up as the golden book of all correct information because it's ripped directly from the game. Did the same thing; found a collection of Digimon, cross-referenced their requirements against the guide. All of them match up. The guide is accurate.
What I think happened is some people were talking about how the guide hides the information for three evolutions, the "secret" evolutions of MegaSeadramon, HerculesKabuterimon, and Phoenixmon (WereGarurumon is also in this datamine but I don't think he's attainable, the only video I can find on it is an April Fools joke). They are labeled "Top Secret" because, well, they're secret. I think people were referencing how this information was missing and somehow it got misconstrued into "the guide is full of false information". The guide is fine. I used the guide a bit while I was playing. It was helpful! It's got readable maps for each area and points out all the important things to do in them, and like I've discovered, the evolution section is completely accurate based on every single document I found to compare it to.

i think a part of why those secret evolutions are so elusive is because of their unified Bonus condition; 0 battles. If you get into a single battle, the Bonus requirements are inaccessible to you (unless you have 40 techs, which is close to all of them; you'd have to max out every type but two). You'll have to evolve them using Stats, Care Mistakes, and Weight, and a lot of those are pretty trial and error unless you have the info datamined, which I feel like strategy guide writers back in 2000 or so didn't have.

Go down past the bridge heading towards kunimon' s bed. And ninjamon should appear.

Digimon world 2 is good, repetative yes but mechanically its basically the same as pokemon but the battle animations take too long which makes the game too slow. If battles would be sped up it would a lot better game

King Sukamon can turn your digimon back from a Sukamon if the virus gauge maxes out, you can use this to slightly extent their lifespan as it counts as a digivolution (to Sukamon) even if it's negated with King after.

Was also the reason the other Sukamon said to not anger him, as turning a perfectly fine Sukamon (like it) into a different digimon to them is horrifying (or they could just be racist? speciesist? Sukamon supremist? whatever the word for it would be)

Jesus christ just hearing him mention Digimon World 2 gives me vietnam flashbacks of the fucking trap bugs and not having the right ammo for things.

Yea don't play that game, there are better torture methods out there I promise you.

That Piximon fight was pretty epic!
My last Piximon fight involved a Mamemon that only knew the weak and pathetic Sonic Jab. I won the fight after using every healing item and restore I had.
He's so strong!!!

The Greymon event only happens if you Talk to Jijimon and he tells you the prosperity of the city. So if you lose to Greymon and respawn as a Baby he won't fight you unless you talk to Jijimon.

Don't know if this will get seen:
Sukamon doesn't OFFICIALLY join the city, but he gets counted. He is worth exactly 1 point. He can be found at night near the toilets.

Also - as chat has said but to help clarify for anyone else:
Ultimate Digimon random guide: 5000 HP/MP and 500 in each stat is a generic goal. The goal is to get 3 checks - which becomes MUCH easier as the game goes on and you get a bunch of techniques: All stats is a singular check, Weight is a check, and Care Mistakes are a check. Bonus conditions can be Techniques, a Number of battles, (Highest I saw is 100 for Giromon) Happiness and discipline.
There are some digivolutions that can randomly occur are a 30% chance (Birdramon and Seadramon have a 30% chance to randomly digivolve to Airdramon - Vegiemon has a 30% chance to digivolve into Ninjamon: all with their own proper conditions every time they sleep)
Some Digimon have universal conditions like Sukamon to all digimon, Numemon is you fail to meet any requirements to Champion for rookies, Kunemon for all In-Training digimon sleeping in Kunemon's bed zone, and Vademon if you digivolve to Champion and survive for 360 more hours with a 50% chance. Vademon has no stat requirements he is literally a survival percent. The only way to digivolve into him is to meet no other requirements and survive for 360 hours with a 50% chance.

There are also items you can get that will force digivolve.

Metal Greymon specifically needs 5000HP, 4000 MP, 400 Offense and Defense, with 300 in Speed and Brains. 65 weight and 10 care mistakes max. 30 battles (Which is what you more than likely got a check for) and 30+ techniques as Bonus conditions.

The arguably hardest to get the raw way because their data even in manuals and actual game code is Herculese Kabuterimon: 7000 HP, 600 Defense, 400 Offense and Speed. 55 Weight and 5 care mistakes max. 40 + Techniques and 0 Battles as bonus conditions.

I can't wait to see you play Digimon World 3 someday. It's my favorite Digimon game. Plus, you can get Kumamon/Bearmon as a partner! I'd recommended you play the PAL version if possible. It actually has a post-game and I think some bugs and balancing issues were fixed.

When it comes to the shop, no one will blame you save state scumming. Literally need a certain amount of meds bought to win

Not only did the guy's girlfriend dump him for Wizardmon, he's still getting roasted over it years later by Asprey

The only megas in the game are phoenixmon, HerculesKabuterimon, Machinedramon and technically MetalEtemon. Phoenixmon, HerculesKabuterimon and MetalEtemon are obtainable (Although MetalEtemon doesnt appear on the chart and you wont be able to get him naturally so it's more of an easter egg). Also I think that metalgreymon is one of the easiest ultimates to have. You dont need a lot of stats and has a few bonus requirements that are easy to hit so you can replace stats for those requirements.

MasterTyrannomon is funny. I thought for the longest time "Master" was just a title and this was a regular DarkTyrannomon (looks basically the same the way it's depicted in this game) but apparently MasterTyrannomon is its own species, as I recently found out from playing Lost Evolution.
