The very sad reality is that this is just the way the gaming industry operates as a whole these days. There is not a single company that ISNT like this man.. these loan sharks that come into these companies and offer them money and steal their games have hijacked the gaming industry. Elder scrolls isn’t even a zos game or franchise. Why do they own and run it? If Bethesda had full control of ESO we wouldn’t be in this situation.

I know one person that did the same thing in Trove after much more hours spent in game, but his obsession with the game was so strong that he came back after 2 weeks I think, in few months he had everything back, I have about 3600 hours in this game personally, most of the time was me actively farming new stuff that every update was adding, in past year every new update tried to push the end game further which is getting exhausting because fully maxing multiple classes is really hard now when you have to get everything for each class, personally I wouldn't do something like that, deleting everything after that many hours just hurts, I really value what I got in this game after all that hours and on his place I would just quit the game or play it sometimes

This is like a partner who doesn’t just leave you but burns all your stuff, keys your car and talks shit about you on social media.

I think it’s very admirable. I wish I had the strength to do this with some MMOs, bc i have one that i keep subscribing to but can’t really play bc I miss the game but it has a lot of bad memories attached.

I stopped spending extra money on top of eso plus and new chapters for 90% of everything. Gambling on crown crates is absurd. Just buy a cool apex with endeavors for me. If I want something from the store, I just pay someone to get them for me. The 10% otherwise is if something actually cool is in the store.

The potions part I disagree on, hell its really easy to level Alchemy and make your own potions for free, you just gotta sometimes gather the mats, I leveled Alchemy for my raid potions in like 15 mins tops, but the upgrade materials I heavily agree with, 600 hours in and I had golded out everything but my jewelry and was nowhere near close enough to afford golding out my jewelry

I totally understand this guy, but i probably couldn't be fucked to delete everything simply because of how long it takes.

Honestly there was 3 main reasons why i quit this game and i don't think devs are ever gonna adress them again.

First reason was the fact that everything became hybrid, everyone uses the same gear and plays the same fucking way. Fun am i right?

Second reason was, i only really enjoyed vet raids and dungeons in this game, but for some reason in this game you loose gold when you play challanging PvE unless you do carry runs. What the fuck? I always questioned this absolutely stupid design. Why is hardest shit in the game doesn't reward you and you still have to pick up flowers or do PvP for actual gold income?

Third reason was update35 and we all know about that clusterfuck.

Sounds like that was his first MMORPG, because that's the standard path MMORPGs take after a while.

ESO is just the tip of the iceberg. This is happening in a lot of MMOs. Destiny 2 is having the same problem. An influx of lazy new gamers that think the best weapons and gear are unattainable, so they get together and cry about certain weapons and gear (Divinity in D2, Maelstrom weapons in ESO) until said weapon gets nerfed or changed. Sounds like the same bunch crying about how they can’t afford rent or a house in real life. What a time to be alive.

I honestly do not understand it. Some people like min maxing their characters I have no problem with that but all I see here is people who do that are upset that they have to adjust their playstyle. Getting the most out of your character can be done under any circumstances.

Sounds to me he cannot decide what he wants.... He complains about power creep and then also the fact they reduced player power. He wants min max but then wants things to also be difficult.... meaning if you aren't min maxing then that content will be completely unacceisble to you which should never be the case. But he also complains about that.... It makes no sense.

How MMO's should work is you take the average and you balance around that (just a bit below) except for the very small amount of top top content (which would also get easy for people who know how over time.) If you balance around the top the game is an unpleased experience for everoyne not in that bracket, if you balance around the bottom you make things far too boring for everyone who isn't just wanting to press buttons and things die.

No-one seems to give a damn about the middle ground because both extremes want things their way.

The way I keep MMOs fresh, is I take a long hiatus then when I come back there's enough content to keep me satisfied for a while and right when I get back up to top tier I then take another hiatus and thus the cycle continues. Lol, they're just games that are meant to be enjoyed. My only gripe is I miss out on some cool styles and outfits, I'm a style junkie in games lol

I don't understand the mindset. If he enjoyed his time, Why does he feel the need to do this. Ya it might not be enjoyable now, but you got value for what you enjoyed before.

This mindset needs to stop.

“I did this, i did this….i did this..” “i was the best at ESO in my own head…” Why make a video to say I’m leaving a game? Just leave. I don’t agree with the grinding all the gear to be in a prog group…the raid leaders want you to wear the new sets…not true! Some new sets…sure but that’s not always the case. I’m still wearing rele and nirn. Can’t afford potions? WTF! Dude you can level alchemy and make your own! Some of his reasons are valid though!

My ~15,000 hours played ("/played" across all 16 characters added together) ESO account (started in 2014, complete with Imgakin Monkey "beta pet") had sat idle for just short of 2 years until I logged in to check it out again this past Monday out of morbid curiosity. At the time I left ESO, I enjoyed success in both PvE and PvP. I had all of the PvE content on farm, played with most of the best players PC-NA had to offer up to then, and had every "meaningful achievement" (including in PvP such as Cyrodiil Emperor before it was a simple matter of just "Emp Trading" in a dead campaign). Now, I know that's not the same thing as outright deleting the account. But, I do agree with most of his assessment of the development of the game over time. I guess I just went away more quietly than he did. LOL

He is just but hurt cuz he can't wrap his head around the new style of play so he wanted to cry hahaha

I took a break after update 36, this is my second long break. I don't think I'll be coming back honestly, I've been playing some bdo lately, until aoc releases.

The games been way too easy for most average and advanced content, and they make it even easier for new players, meaning you just never die, even without cp.. one of eso biggest issues tied to pve dedication.

He's right period. They want players who are brain dead...no attention to detail and have no intention of maxing out in the game. Keep them mid so they spend on shit that has become cookie cutting content. The devs are outright asswholes and thats final. Whether you play or don't..and whether you love them or don't....they are the enemy and you are sleeping with an abusive partner.

I’ve been playing this game for 8 years n complete most of what the game have to offer. From questing to vet dungeons n trials. And also get most of the skins from all these dungeon n trials and I can admit you can get really burnt out when the keep changing the meta every 3 month. The game need to offer more rewards when it comes to trials. Update 35 let every dam class play the exact same. If ur a casual gamer none of what am saying applies to u because u guys just play the game how u want which is total fine but people have different goals in every game and the dev need to respect that.

I also deleted ESO from my PC this past week. It was sad. I loved that game until recently. Now i dont even want to play it at all. I started playing 6 mo after it launched, for a long time it was my only game i played.

Livewire is a superb set for 'fake tanking' at breakneck speeds in normal dungeons when you pull several encounters together to get through the RND fast. There are hundreds of players who would not even need to do this if transmutes had other reliable sources

Damage burning is the way.

Left in January of 2022 mainly because of how homogenized the gameplay was becoming. I wasn’t the best player, I had achievements but I really enjoyed playing my alts and their difference in play style in the few hours I had on weekdays after getting home from work. Also the crown store just never being able to afford any of the cool things even though I was completing tons of vet trials with friends and seeing people boast about crates lol

I enjoy eso for pve and the voice acted quests I play as a tank and very much enjoy it, I play the gane to enjoy it thats all there is to it

I have more hours than this in FF and I couldn't imagine deleting everything. I have way less in ESO and still couldn't think about doing this. My stuff will get deleted when the servers go down forever. That's it lol

This video sums up why I also quit ESO after a considerable amount of time spent playing it. The only thing I miss about ESO is the fluid combat.

The painful part of quitting ESO was not losing the hours of time and effort I put in. You can work past your investment fallacy. It was the subversive gaslighting from my peers who wanted to continue playing in their bubble, and would not acknowledge that I was suffering due to the state of the game. People I used to communicate with on a daily basis have gone silent since I stopped playing. They have tied themselves to the mast, they are going down with the ship, and I'm not waiting around with a life preserver.
