How To Update MPC 2.10 Firmware (Get Synths To Work For MPC One, Live, Live 2 and X)

You might have to log into the Akai Pro to download the Synth Content per Mick Jones. I guess it might not work from the product page.

Was there a recent update to the site I lost you after you said locate and download synths I don’t see that when I click on downloads it says “force download” & “mpc downloads” then it shows listings under Keyboards, Controllers & EWI Series but none say Synth

Why do they make it so complicated to download expansions, synths....? 🤷🏽‍♂️🤯

Thank you for these Mpc noob vids! I am a blues guitar player that for medical reasons can’t gig anymore. So I am taking the plunge with the mpc. Your videos are helping already and I literally just opened the box a few hours ago. I do have one, glaringly stupid question to ask the Mpc community lol. I hear a lot of talk about sampling, using samples, mangling samples etc etc etc. But no one ever mentions just exactly HOW they are getting these samples in the first place? Lol. Sorry but I said I was a noob. I am mostly interested in trying to make blues/funk maybe a bit of country rock metal etc etc. I am really not much into electronic music, though I could see myself maybe getting into some funky boom bap.

Thanks for the vid...... However this new content manager appears to have made installing synth content way more complicated..... Nice work AKAI!!!!. I now have to install each synth individually.... Not a major problem per say but the instructions just arent clear.
It seems the new manager is more about selling stuff than helping you manage your MPC.
Downloading and dragging one folder and popping it on an SD was way easier in my opinion

I have this 64GB SD Card & a 1TB SSD that i formatted & added a large, organized Sample Library. I haven't connected it i wanted to make sure there wasn't some convoluted process to go through before plugging it in. I couldn't find any standalone videos about using an External SSD. So it seems like i can just plug it in & go. I like how the desktop software sees all the drives i have connected to my DAW.

Also is there a way i can plug in the Ethernet cable i have running to my studio from my router to update the latest firmware, synth content etc. I don't really need the synths but i still want to know how to install everything correctly. I'm just getting used to the new MPC's after years of using floppy disks with my older MPC's SP-1200, & ASR-10 machines.

I thought the new MPC's would be similar to those machines with some extra FX & software, i was wrong! There's a ton of different menus, functions & work flow things. But I'm learning a lot from all your videos Matthew, thanks for the great content. I just subscribed & hopefully the community will be relatively patient with any questions as well. P

I have issues with finding my mpc on my windows pc. Do you have any idea what could be the problem to access the internal harddrive of the mpc by using the pc?

I just updated my MPC one with MPC X/Live/One-2.8 Firmware Update and now when it boots up all i have is a blank screen...Tried everything now i have a DUD mpc one...thanks so much akai

Hello,.. I just installed 2.10 in to my MPC One, I also downloaded the sense folder into a SD card my MPC one I cannot install a hard drive every time I turn on my MPC one it keeps on telling me about the new updates for the synthesizers folders I downloaded to the SD card.. so do all my SD cards have to have the synthesizer folders since I cannot download it into the MPC one..

One question so each SD card if you don't have one of those hard drives installed into your MPC has to have the synth folder and each SD card...???

And also the new update 2.11 is that a good one or should I wait..

Hello Matthew i have a unique issue with my mpc one and i want your opinion!
i update to 2.11 with the sd card and everything was perfect!!But i plug in the ethernet cable and asked to update again(i forgot that i had already do it).So after that my mpc

doesnt open,it stays in the start up image(logo of mpc) .Do you have any solution?

I have been using My Mac for Click tracks, I would use GarageBand to loop them, they are only about 6 to 10 seconds long. I transferred them to the MPC one via usb. All I wana do is load them (which I did) and loop them and use them like I did with my Mac, I don’t need to edit or cut them… just wana load them, loop them and save them. How do I do this?

I got it but I have to load it up everytime I start my live 2 why is that?

Matthew Stratton and Polli Poppo channels are so helpful for explaining everything clearly in detail to a newbie or even experienced person without sounding condescending!
There are some other good channels I've learned stuff from, but I must admit I really love Matt's approach to his videos: so so so clear to follow!
