New EufyCam 3: TONS of things I didn’t expect! Good and Bad

Using S330 for a couple months now and the cameras are a joke.. AI is unreal and horrible. 4K quality is worst than a 720p camera lol. What a waste of money. Won't recommend this garbage to anyone.

Will i have a hard time connecting with my wifi being a dual band connection? I had trouble in the past with the simplisafe outdoor cameras, could never get them to connect to wifi

The quality of the night vision looks horrible. I was looking to upgrade my current cameras but the night vision is so much better than this that I'm wondering if I should just keep them

I purchased a 4 cam of these and their terrible. And their customer services is non existent. All cam are dead 90% of the time. Charging is ridiculous. And customer service is so difficult. My arlo pro 2 were much better. I recommended don’t buy.

Stupid question... Do the cameras work through Wi-Fi or only directly through the home base?

I got two of these cameras and the home station almost a month ago. It will work for a few days and then it will just stop detecting any motion. I plan on returning mine. I don’t recommend this system. It is too unreliable.

I have a question for you. Seen that you analysed both the EUFY E330 prof as well as the REOLINK DUO 2 Wifi. Which do you think comes out as best? For the Eufy I love the very clear video recording during day time, the AI face & pet recogitnion and its homebase 3. For the Reolink I love that it offers 180° angle, it's strong Wifi connection, strong lights when movement is detected during nighttime. Eufy claims that they can cover up to 10m during daytime and 8m during nighttime for clear and movement detection. Reolink claims it can cover up untill 30m, regardless day or nighttime. In your reviews I have the impression that the Eufy detects further than the Reolink. Is that correct?
Also, Eufy doens't have a dekstop coerage? Only through smartphone?

No Eufy for me/security flaw

I've searched Eufy site and google for this question, how do you use the expandable storage? I bought an ssd to go in there but I can't figure out how to access it or store all videos on it. I assumed once the ssd is installed into the homebase 3 it would detect it and store all video on it, but thats not the case. Is the expandable storage just to archive videos/clips to it? If so, that's useless to me.

The long standing Reset issue (stil unfixed as of today, as far as i can tell) is disqualifying.

How many homebases can you install?
Do they connect to each other wirelessly, or should all of the be connected with ethernet?
I am wondering, if buying 4 cameras, placed on the edges of a big single layer house, would it be sufficient (signal) for all of the cameras? If not, how to manage the issue?

Eufycam series 3 is not compatible with Homebase 2, so if you want to upgrade your camera you also need to upgrade your homebase. My homebase 2 is approx. 3 years old and can now been thrown away if i want to upgrade one of my camera's

Has Eufy fixed the issue of holding down the sync button erasing the video on local storage?

WOW well you just told me something that I never knew that holding down the sync button erases everything from the home base! Eufy please fix this ASAP! I currently have 8 x Eufy cams around the house and was wanting to get more.

Does this camera intergrate with lets say a BlueIris?

How can I use this indoor where there is no sun.

Let me tell you, I went all in on Eufy smart home with indoor and outdoor cameras, doorbell, garage opener….. because of the company behind Eufy…. Well these devices are unreliable to say the least! Several time with more than one product, they have failed at the most basic tasks. Several other systems have proven much more reliable and even near perfect in comparison including Wyse! I’m not even giving my devices away- save someone else the frustration! I wouldn’t recommend ANY of the Eufy smarthome/home security products.

You know eufy security cameras have a serious security flaw (which eufy is calling a feature) right? All a thief has to do is press the sync button of your camera and your camera is gone, and all the footage from the homebase for it is gone with it! I'm no expert but I wouldn't call a camera that can be defeated so easily a "security camera"

STAY AWAY, this is the worst camera ever. It will never connect, even if you have the router next to the camera. Do Not Buy this junk..

Can I ask about the transparency of the review policy? You got the camera for free from Eufy. Was that in exchange for a video? I get that they had no say in the video, but did they have like talking points of stuff they wanted you to mention, or similar? I'm trying to understand how this would be done.

An advice I leave. If the camera is not detecting movement, one of the possible reasons is poor positioning. It is recommended that she be at a height of at least 2 and a half meters. So the sensor works better.
When I bought it, I installed it very low. So it didn't work right. After placing it higher it worked perfectly.

I like eufy because you don't have to pay a monthly fee. We've had good luck with their cameras in the past so we ordered a couple 330's with the solar and a few 300's for indoors along with a 1 tb ssd for the base station.

How well does the cameras pick up your home wifi? Will it work 30 feet from homebase going through 2 walls?

Without HomeKit Secure Video this camera doesn’t make the cut! 😢

The one thing I need is for the base to be able to communicate with the LG TV and display the cameras there.

Thank you for this great video, I'm considering this setup for my home , but i have some questions, does the camera use internet bandwidth when recording an event? , Or does it only communicate with the home base , also what would happen if the internet goes out? I know i won't get notified but will the event be recorded on the home base?

What is the radius???

Buyers beware, the camera comes with a significant lag. Human detection on cameras comes with a lag of 3-4 seconds which is good enough for any intruder to gain access to your door or window. Not exactly an effective camera security system.

even though this thing stores the recordings locally on the home base and its connected to the wifi. if i stay in another country could i see the live feed and vedio recordings in the app like ring does ? being away from the home?

So if somebody breaks in your house and steals the homebase do you lose all your recordings?

Is eufy the new arlo since the original arlo sold to netgear ? Im only asking because they look so much alike

It is soooooo noise with that fan and that is without a hdd

i bought the homebase 3 with x4 4k solar cameras kit but how do you save videos to hdd?

How is the range from base station to cam? Example 4 sides to 3000 sq ft house. Base station in middle with 4 cams on all sides. Does it work? I read 30 ft max. Is that accurate?
If the range is no good, can I buy a second base and ethernet cable it to the router or a mesh node with a LAN port?

Really hoping for a HomeKit compatible PoE camera system.

How come no one mentions the horrible ball joint camera mount it comes with? The camera doesn’t stay in place because it’s too heavy and or the mount is too weak.
