Ben McKenzie explains it well, but also - as a general principle, when a any financial system or structure seems too convoluted for you to understand, it's often because it's just fraud. Complexity is great for the purpose of disguising fraud. This is true for tax breaks, mega-corporations that are effectively monopolies, etc.

Sure is a Ponzi scheme, I sold my 550 bit coins in December 2021, I know I have been given other peoples money, I was lucky which means others lost theirs. How it has gone on this long is beyond me, remember greed is wonderful thing.

Ben keeps saying "we've tried private money 100 years ago and it didn't work!" without realizing that Bitcoin is the first attempt at decentralized money in the history of mankind. It wouldn't have been possible to try a decentralized private currency without the invention of the internet and block chain.

I hope he someday realizes that we've tried everything in regards to creating sound money. We've used rocks, sea shells, tobacco, glass beads, and the list goes on. None of them have worked very well including the US Dollar.

The majority of all US dollars are held by a small percentage of the population, it is easily printable, and there is no cap on it allowing inflation to make it a weak currency just like all of the "currencies" that came before it.

People that call "crypto" just a ponzi about to collapse don't understand the narrative, the technology nor the potential. We can say bitcoin is a ponzi, but not all projects in crypto are. Just because there is a lot of fraud and failed projects, it doesn't mean this all the system is a ponzi. In a way, the USD is also a ponzi since there is no direct correlation with real value. The only difference is that it's is more centralized, if not, the dollar value would be still, but the truth is much different. The FIAT, after the bretton woods collapse has become more and more speculative. It 's just simple more accepted as trading asset. As if it is revolutionary tech, probably not, but might cover the gap between the fall of FIAT as we know, and whatever is coming next. Crypto will probably still be around for a few more years.
I also have a degree in economics and a master degree in finance so i do understand what i am talking about.
