Office 365 on the NEW M1 MacBook – How GOOD is Multitasking and Compatibility?

Will be back to watch ..going to get a new Mac tomorrow since mine will not update anymore 2010 (: will want to put 365 on my new one.

The problem that i have (and maybe one of you smarties can explain) is that excel on windows is different than excel on mac. I took an intro to excel class and was frustrated with specific functions because it was so different on Mac; i found myself using my desktop. Anyone else have this issue?? I assume the only work around is to run the ARM windows and use excel there.

I am planning to purchase mac book pro 32gb since I need to use excel and macros with it which puts me to a place where I need to install windows to mac and use parallels desktop in order to sync mac os and windows? Here is the question, can you work with 365 and macro without installing windows to your mac? If not would 16gb with new M1 chip be ok to install both softwares to your mac?

I was kind of on the fence between an base MacBook Air 13 inch , or the 14 inch MacBook Pro with more peripherals. My main coven is how Office 365 , specifically Excel and secondarily Word and PowerPoint work in the Apple OS environment. Is 8Gb enough or 16 GB safer bet or Invest in larger SSD , ( is the speed difference worth it) . Can you write macros in Excel as easily as in Windows based Excel?

Hi.. If you have solution kindly let ke know? Many time when i download files, they show error that they can't be opened with office. Same time i can open them in wps. I have realized the same file some time i am able to open and some time not.

I have a MacBook Air with office 365. I run into a problem when trying to use the editor in word with a document that was exported from Pages. It then wants to underline every word in red and check it for spelling in Italian, even though English is the selected language.

I recently purchased an M1 after using a PC for 35yrs. It was a massive challenge (at my age) to make this switch. I found that the Microsoft 365 has some differences on M1 to Windows PC; especially using the Outlook Contacts tool. Windows has more options to sort contact information than what is availble on M1 or maybe even Mac in general (not sure). However, the apps do open faster and as mine is a 16gb it handles the workload quite easily.

But if you wanna save all the fuss opening a Microsoft account and you have an email account, let's say..... you have an email account with Hotmail outlook, you can use word through your email. But then to train to be, let's say.... a legal secretary, could you possibly use Microsoft through your email, for that's where I did my language translations? Although I'm not a legal secretary, I only brought up an example.
