Can you share your resume that landed you the job?
ОтветитьI have a CySA+ which is the next level up from a Sec+ and it has been 9 months since I passed. And still cannot land a job. The DoD considers the cert an IAT II level.
Thank you for this information and video!
Damn, this explains all those hacker breaches of late lol
ОтветитьHi all! I'm very interested in starting in the IT world and perhaps even going the Cybersecurity route. I'm curious if landing a job in Canada requires a college diploma or if companies would be fine with an applicant who has completed a few certifications such as COMPTIA & perhaps Google's certs as well for IT>
ОтветитьCan you talk even faster please?
ОтветитьI legit have Sec+, CEH, Splunk Core User and can't land a job.....its like a bad fishing trip lol
ОтветитьAwesome!
Thanks so much!
an excellent video, thanks for your advice!
ОтветитьCan we debunk the pay gap myth now? I am in cyber security and I only get 85k
ОтветитьHi Sandra ,I purchased your Complete Cyber Security Career Bundle ,but I'm not finding the 100+ Practice Interview Questions mentioned in the Description !
ОтветитьBeing a cute, hot woman will get you a job with no experience.
ОтветитьThat new Google cybersecurity certificate seems to be quite good as study for the Sec+. When you complete it, you get a 30% discount on the Sec+, and when you get both, Google will put the Sec+ on your shareable badge as a sort of "dual credential." It has generally good reviews as an overview of the field. Broad, if somewhat shallow, but has instruction on Python and SQL, so it does get a bit technical. It's only $50/month, and lots of people report being able to finish it inside 2 months -- some, much faster than that.
ОтветитьI have a Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems w/ a minor in cybersecurity and Forensics obtained May 2020 & a Masters in cybersecurity obtained August 2022. I can not tell you how many applications I have submitted since 2020 and still have not landed a job in IT. There are an immense amount of unemployed people with and without experience having issues getting a job in cybersecurity. My timeline on LinkedIn is full of people with the same complaints. There are many like me who have degrees, and some have certs and degrees, no experience, and are being rejected.
Entry level jobs are requiring 2+yrs experience and CISSP, CYSA+, which IS NOT Entry level. There are several LinkedIn members who have been in Cybersecurity for 15+ yrs who are saying the gap in cybersecurity is due to jobs asking for unbelievable requirements, and it's not helping new talent enter the field. It has gotten crazy over the last decade and difficult to enter the field.
What’s the best jobs to apply for with a CompTIA security+ certificate?
ОтветитьI found job hopping worked for me. I have less than 5 years experience and went from being a specialist then analyst then engineer and now on the verge of moving into management and hiring an analyst that will eventually report to me. Work remotely making 130k now as an engineer. Everyone’s path is different but that’s what’s worked for me. Don’t have a certification beyond security + aside from some vendor specific certs like PCNA.
ОтветитьSecurity+ certified 2015 and still no IT job.
Ответитьyou speak very fast but i love the info thanks
ОтветитьI wish I could land a remote job? I have a Bachelors science degree in IT currently in school for my Master in cybersecurity I have sec+ with 8+ years of experience with a TS and I can't land anything remote/hybrid.
ОтветитьWhy you always speak so fast? 😮
ОтветитьUseless information. You provided nothing.. you beat around the bush to shill a product... smh
ОтветитьNo experience yea, but doesnt she have a computer science degree?
ОтветитьSandra, pls can you work me through the CV you use in getting cyber security job. Thank you
ОтветитьLet’s be realistic, it’s really who you know not what you know, when it comes to getting high paying or government jobs now a days.
ОтветитьI don't believe her at all.
ОтветитьI really appreciate the video! Great information! A bit of constructive criticism: I had to turn on the captions because your speech tailed off a great deal and was difficult to understand at times. Great info! Thanks again 😊
ОтветитьI got Net+ and Sec+ 1 experience in IT Support. Currently working as Information Security Analyst, I’ve been here for 4 months. I make around 54K/yr.
I plan on taking CySA+ and move to another company that will pay me at least 80-85K when I hit 1 year mark here. Am I being realistic?
Then I will wait one more year and I’ll want to take the BTL1 and move to another company that will pay me at least 100-110K.
Do you see value in having both CySA+ and BTL1?
ОтветитьI just got my CASP+ certification, with 4 years working in cybersecurity, and still struggling to find work. The market is terrible right now for cybersecurity professionals
ОтветитьI'm still in kindergarten when it comes to computers,
To be honest, I don't know what the initials IT mean
yet. Where do I start if you were me?
I'm retired and would love to work in Cybersecurity
But not sure where to start...thanks
I am from India, and I have 2.8 years of exp, is it possible to get remote jobs from other Countries.
ОтветитьI thought the video was on 2x speed 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
ОтветитьDear lord slow down and take a breath. You talk way too fast LOL. Good info, thanks for posting.
ОтветитьI love your videos on the content and the role of what you do. I know you have to be sponsored and paid for these videos but it's kind of confusing when you sponsor several different places to get your knowledge for certain certifications. If you had to choose out of all the ones you've been sponsored by who would you choose? Thank you
ОтветитьDo I need a degree? I already have my cert. I got it last year
ОтветитьI am thinking about going for the google certificate and then go for the other certificates. i am going into it with no experience or a degree. do you have any suggestions for me? thanks
ОтветитьYou’re a baby
ОтветитьI work as a DoD contractor (Navy) as a cyber security analyst (non-technical) with a Sec+ and TS clearance earning $120k. I'll be on my 5th year working remotely 80-90% of the time depending on the workload and scheduled meetings I have with clients and other stakeholders. What helps is that I set my own schedule along with having reliable team members and leadership on both the client and contractor side of things along with a pretty good work/life balance. It helps that the work that I do is a rewarding and learning experience which I'm passionate about and end up not using PTO and in turn maxing out my cap which is 5 weeks so I have to take time off every pay period in order for me to keep accruing. All in all, I'm very lucky to end up with this job and although I would like to earn more, I really value work/life balance as I do have a family of my own to take care of. Hoping that everyone looking into this field will find their happy place.
ОтветитьShe having 4 years of experience.
Also she how i got a 6 fig job in cyber security with no experience.
Interesting facts
ОтветитьStarting from scratch with no experience seems daunting
ОтветитьHello do you have a linkedin page ?
ОтветитьHey Sandra, Love your content. Quick Question. Do you ever do any Q&A Opportunities for the general public? (paid or unpaid). Maybe review college program descriptions (ie, Reviewing the courses that are offered at certain colleges) i feel like many people (even myself) are kind of confused as there are so many different offerings for Cybersecurity/Tech in general.
Ответитьhi Sandra! i am attending Columbia university cybersecurity bootcamp next month. i have no experience :( is it hard ?
ОтветитьLove these vids.. hopefully I can change my career and be on your level in a few years
