New Splash API for Android in 60 seconds

Hello! I'm exploring Jetpack Compose and I'm trying to create a custom SplashScreen theme using Kotlin code exclusively. I've noticed that most examples on the internet use XML for defining the theme. Is there a way to set up a SplashScreen theme in Jetpack Compose without relying on XML? 

I'd like to keep everything in Kotlin to fully embrace Compose. Any guidance or insights would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The installSplashScreen should be called before the super call of onCreate

in Java how do you do the installSplashScreen?

I tried this:

class MainActivity2 : AppCompatActivity() {
lateinit var binding: ActivityMain2Binding

super.onCreate(savedInstanceState)
binding = ActivityMain2Binding.inflate(layoutInflater)

But it didn't work. Can't find the reason.

All it does is show a drawable with a delay? isn't the splash screen used to, in the meantime, get the user login status too for example? How and where would you add that logic?
