I'm 73, borned 1950 in Amsterdam and my Dad took me as I was 6 years old to a Cafe, Dave was playing. It was the first time for me, but not the last. Great Music and people.

Best album ever made, I’m a old rocker by heart and a musician but this album is the best ever.

The saxophonist Paul Desmond was responsible for this composition and its written in a 5/4 time signature hence “Take Five” I only heard this once & I was completely hooked on jazz which is strange as before this my preferred choice of music was Heavy Rock

Paul Emil Breitenfeld also plays the saxophone here.

When I was in my childhood and I heard this piece, I always imagined driving through the mountains in a Austin Healy on a serpentine road being chased by a gangster in a black Galaxie 500. To be honest, I still do 😂

People are commenting on seeing the band at colleges. They took on segregation and won, refusing to play if Eugene Wright their black bassist were not allowed on stage with them. Brubeck cancelled a TV appearance when he discovered that the producers were planning to keep Eugene off-camera
