How to import .mov files to After Effects "File is damaged or unsupported" [Solution 2016]

It works on my windows player but when I import to after effects it dosent work

I would suggest using a program like Handbrake to convert your raw video files before importing them to After Effects

I did every step and nothing has changed what have I done wrong

It's me again! I'm so sorry to bother you 😅 Apparently the videos I need to use have the following codecs: hvc1, AAc, mebx. Some forums I've checked say the most practical solution is to convert them buuuut I'm positive the codecs must be out there, somewhere hahaha. Fortunately I could fix my problem with the first solution you presented on your other video! So thank you :3 I still wonder if there's another way to prevent this error.

I allready intall this quick time a loong tima ago. And somehow i forget it then i uninstall the software until i frustated with my AE project doesnt work because .mov file is not supported. Now i saw your video and now iam wake up again. Thanks dude!!!

hi, my mov works on my CS6, but CC 2020 still unable to read the mov file. how can i solve it?

Sorry to burst the bubble but it does not work for me. Neither using the 2020 version tip. Keeps saying "unsupported file" despite quicktime pro 7.7.9, despite Avid codecs, despite k-lite codec pack... Damned, it had to be me...
