God Of War | FSR 2.0 vs DLSS vs Native res - First Impressions - RTX 3080Ti / GTX 1080Ti

Was testing FSR 2.1 on Cyberpunk last night. Would never go lower than quality. Even so would prefer to go without with less performance. Looks like ass in VR lol

A wise man once said that Ultra is not for playing, Ultra is for screenshots, high is for playing.

In the heat of a game, you'll see almost no difference between high and ultra.

That being said, the 1080 Ti will forever give not only a playable experience but a pleasurable one at that... until Nvidia discontinues driver support for Pascal cards that is. But the power and longevity of the card will go down in history as the best GPU ever made. Ironically, Nvidia probably regrets it from a business point of view. I think that regret is apparent in their price for the 4090.

60 fps framerate cap on the 1080 t in 1440p ultra

...and this is why I'm keeping my 1080Ti. I will continue to do so until 50-series. I can play and enjoy my games and that's the point. Especially the fact that these cards have 11GB of memory. I will need more for running more powerful GPT models on my server, but an 11GB 1080TI is enough to run GPT2. The new cards are expensive and don't offer the gains to justify the cost in my case.

1080p 58 FPS on Ultra Settings (so much more intensive for some reason) with GTX 1080 Ti is not that bad actually... We're talking about a 6-year-old video card.
(But 48-50 is not good)
Just use High settings like me with GTX 1080 guys :(
I don't believe the difference in High-Ultra graphics is enough to make a 10 fps difference, i think there is an optimization problem.

BTW in my opinion 1080p - High looks better than 1080p - Ultra + FSR
It looks like FSR - DLSS is not created for 1080p gaming :(

I haven't watched the video, I would assume dlss runs better because of the dedicated tensor cores on the rtx card. But does it look better than fsr2.0?

When you use the sharpen slider you can get rid of any fuzziness. And it doesn't get the sharp halo edges that dlss creates when using its sharpen slider.

You kept the sharpening at 0 which is why you see it a bit fuzzy...

Fsr 2.0 is great but i will still use dlss not only does it look a bit better it performs better because it uses the tensor cores

Sometimes it is not GPU, it's game that can not handle shit.

Shame, FSR 2 implementation on deathloop is great. Even 1080p performance(540p internal) look Sharp. But FSR 2.0 on GoW and farming Sim are bad honestly. Maybe because the game engine or AMD didnt sponsoring that games🤣

i was going to upgrade to the 4070 but i think im gonna wait and see how far i can push my 1080ti, deff got my moneys worth with this card. upgraded from a 1060 6gb and ended up giving it to my brother and even that card can still game at 1080p medium/high settings.

I don't have God of War in my PC but I'm assuming that the devs removed FSR 1.0 which answers why I can't see anywhere in the settings menu. I was looking forward for a 1.0 vs 2.0 comparison but oh well.

1080Ti, a 5 years old behemoth, still a beast by today standards.

All ultra, shadows high. 1080ti over 60fps in all scenes. Without FSR in 1080p.

Not even dlss looks good in this game at 1080p. 1440p looks ok but 4k is where it works best. Quality presets considered in all scenarios. I've tested it myself.

Now we need the rtx 2080ti in between to have the perfect balance

DLSS and FSR is great for those who have 4K monitors but cant play at native 4K. This will make 4K way more sellable.

I think it's important to highlight that FSR 2.0 doesn't use AI (need specific training data from each game to learn what is what when needing to upscale). Nvidia has probably taken notice what AMD has been able to do rather quickly without the need for AI training in each game implementation. The AI training data may give DLSS a bit less overhead (higher FPS) since it has some data to rely on when upscaling, but that also means possibly more work to implement DLSS in a game versus FSR 2.0. If it's easier to code, then it's more likely to be included at launch. That fact that FSR 2.0 works on any graphics card means if it truly matches DLSS at some point... developers may question why even do the work to add DLSS and FSR when they could just add FSR for everybody.
