I used to love Curra's for Mexican food, but don't even know whether it still exist...
ОтветитьRamen Tatsuya has to be one of my favorite Austin restaurants.
ОтветитьBest southern food in austin: Cherry Creek Catfish
Best enchiladas in austin: Serranos
Best BBQ in austin: Wouldn't know I go to lockhart for that
As an Austinite, born and raised, you can’t go wrong with Home Slice.
ОтветитьTerry Blacks doesn’t seem to be on the list???
ОтветитьJewboy Burgers needs to be on this list. One of the best burger includes slices of super tender pastrami with sauerkraut and cheese. Absolutely delicious.
ОтветитьIt’s nuts to me that Texas Chilli Parlor didn’t make this list.
ОтветитьHere are some 'Old' Austin eateries I would recommend as well: Chuy's (original location on Barton Springs Rd.), the original Kerby Lane (on...wait for it, Kerby Lane), The Catfish Parlor (South location on Ben White), El Mercado (S. 1st Street location), and Dan's Hamburgers (N. Lamar Street), Also honorable mention to Matt's El Rancho- I'm not all that crazy about it but it is one of the oldest Tex-Mex places in Austin (going back to 1952) it's always been a local favorite anyway. Lastly, a shout out to Hut's Hamburgers and Threadgill's two "Old Austin' places that bit the dust during covid :(
ОтветитьIve lived in austin for over 20+ years and this list is amazing! Round rock donuts are the best ive ever had! Torchys is classic and never dissapoints and there queso is on point. Some of my best sunset photographs are at the oasis even shot a wedding there.
ОтветитьFood trucks… so cool…
ОтветитьVia 313 has some of the best pizza, and the Boston Cooler dessert drink is so good. We always stop at the one in Oak Hill when we visit family.
ОтветитьLegit that you had Valetinas and Tacos Veracruz and Home Slice
ОтветитьLesser known but amazing food trucks:
Cuantos Tacos
Rolling Smoke BBQ
Thai Thani
Top notch Tex Mex
Mi Madres
Baby A’s
Top notch Mexican
Suerte
Estes
My favorite Pizza
Via 313
Little Deli
Seafood
Perla’s
Burger joint
Crown and Anchor
Brunch
Sawyers
I’m surprised you didn’t stop by an Amy’s Ice cream
We have so many great food options from pricy to cheap, it’s awesome.
Bars are for broken people lol.
ОтветитьAustin sucks when it comes to restaurants. Corpus Christi and San Antonio are much better.
ОтветитьThe Oasis is Just a view the food is bad I took some friend of mine who are culinary writers from Florida and they work very disappointed in the food as I have been every single time and for doughnuts you need to try ducks
ОтветитьI can’t trust your pallet because Franklins has the worst BBQ I have ever had in my human life. I drove his mother as a Lyft driver when she came here one time and she said she doesn’t even eat his food and then laughed. for you to not mention blacks on your list shows me clearly you don’t know what you’re talking about
ОтветитьAgreed on everything other than the oasis. View is great but that is it.
ОтветитьFonda San Miguel! Eclectic and fabulous menu options!!
Ответитьwhoa whoa whoa there's no one who wants to eat at the oasis.
ОтветитьNote on donuts: also find a place that makes kolaches. Basically sweet bread with fruit jam or sausage inside.
ОтветитьNo tex mex?
ОтветитьAs a Austinite this is a solid list minus The Oasis and Torchys. People only go to The Oasis for the view of Lake Travis and maybe a Margarita; not the food. There are way better Tex Mex restaurants to go to like my favorites Curras and Enchiladas Y Mas. Torchys food quality has really gone down and the price is not worth it since they decide to expand to multiple locations in many states.
ОтветитьTerry Black’s is the GOAT
ОтветитьTorchy's and The Oasis? Come on dude.
Ответитьbro literally said all the tourist traps..lmao
ОтветитьGreen Mesquite BBQ and more. I suggest the and more. Haven't had anything bad here yet. Also try Aviator's pizza for a thicker style pizza. And for burger joints Casino el Camino in downtown or Jewboy Burgers on Airport Ave.
ОтветитьThe Oasis food is horrible the drinks are ok though.
ОтветитьYour wife is adorable! As a happily married lady, it is so sweet to see you all loving living life together!❤
ОтветитьMissed the Salt lick
ОтветитьIf you’re from CALIFORNIA you can go AWAY from Texas! We don’t want you here.
ОтветитьCool, greetings from Sweden
ОтветитьFranklins you can pre order which I recommend. My brother bbqs so I was not impressed lol
ОтветитьIts obvious that you aren't from around here. This is a Tourist list.
ОтветитьAustin Native here, and vegetarian and just wanted to add some of my favorite places:
Mission Burger (all vegan burger joint that popped up this year)
Nissi Vegan Mexican Cuisine (all vegan tex mex place that popped up this year)
The next few aren't full vegan/vegetarian, but do have delicious options whether or not you eat meat.
Ditty Dog (Hotdog Truck open Thursday-Sunday at night, Hotdogs are great, Bugolgi Fries are great. Their veggie dog is the best hotdog I've ever had as someone who's eaten meat for the first half of my life, I'm sure their regular dogs are even better)
Matt's El Rancho (Usually very busy but is the best tex mex I've had in austin)
Aster's Ethiopian Restaurant (If you've never experienced ethiopian food, you're in for a treat. I always take friends who are visiting for the first time here)
Saffron (Really good Indian food)
They’re lying as a austin native none of the food mentioned here is good don’t come to austin
ОтветитьBest vegan barbeque donuts?
ОтветитьOk lots of the places you put are cool and definitely worth a try the oasis is a beyond mid Tourist trap, it’s pretty much chilis with a view
ОтветитьI’ve never seen anyone recommend the Oasis as a place to eat. I’ve seen it as a place to avoid.
ОтветитьPhenomenal
ОтветитьGourdough’s is always a must stop for me. It’s a meal on it’s own😊
Ответитьi can see why America is the world leader in sickness, their diet is garbage
ОтветитьThe oasis food is incredibly expensive but basically tastes like bar food. Go for the view. Don't waste your money on the food.
ОтветитьTorchys is awful and 1 taco might cost youv$20
ОтветитьVoodoo donuts!
ОтветитьI have eaten at half your list and can wholeheartedly agree with your selections. I have returned to them time and again whenever I visit. Valentina’s has temporarily closed their Manchaca location as they opened up a brand new and much larger place in nearby Buda. Via 313 has great Detroit style pizza on 6th street. Great list Josh!
ОтветитьI just moved to Austin this month so I am definitely keeping this video handy.
ОтветитьEverything looks sooooo good!! 🤤🙌🏽
ОтветитьTwo Austin eateries you didn't mention that are long-time greats; Fonda San Miguel and Conans Pizza. Both opened in the 1970's and have been going strong since. Fonda San Miguel opened in 1975 and serves traditional recipes of interior and coastal regions of Mexico. Conans opened in 1976 and is best know for its Deep Dish Wheat Dough and best-selling everything pizza, The Savage. Both are must stops to experience the best of Austin eateries, IMHO.
