I'd be more interested in the pros and cons of the "new" product and its features, not the install ... and you applying ontop of already lined vs. new installs ... gives one no basis of comparison to the old product or even competing products
ОтветитьPrevious owner of my semi converted van used sound deadening on the roof as an insulator. I can report that in comparison with the thermoliner, sound deadening does not insulate 🤣 there's frost all over the ceiling except for a small strip where I replaced it with thermoliner. Good job i noticed before putting the ceiling up!
ОтветитьDo you have any info on the u value of the product? Thanks
ОтветитьJust putting my dodo thermoliner on. It's got a clear film on the back. It's really hard to use the line guides as the light bounces off it!
ОтветитьCan you use expanding foam to get in the the crevices
I know the acoustics aren’t as good but would it suitable for insulation
With all the large glass areas has it been shown that all this insulation is really worth doing?
ОтветитьWhat is the R values of the 10 mm , I can see using some of this in places of my build on step van ,Best Regards Arthur
ОтветитьI also found using the end of blade not great as it can pierce the foil too..used the end of thick round headed screwdriver..thanks
ОтветитьHow about using bubble wrap?
ОтветитьRather only see their PET recyclable insulation.
This just a Armaflex variant. High environmental impact. Not a fan of that.
Looks like a great product, I’m about to start the insulation on my Van, do you recommend using the Dodo mat panels first then the Dodo mat on top or just the Dodo mat?
Thanks.
Still not as good as spray foam
ОтветитьAwesome video as always, Can I use this on the roof and floor?
ОтветитьWould this stuff in 4mm be good for the bottom of a rooftop tent?
ОтветитьAre you going to cover all the ribs of the van with it also?
ОтветитьThis may sound ridiculous but I am panicking that I didn't clean and degrease as thoroughly as I should have before applying the deadening mats. What is the worst thing that can happen if I didnt? I applied some over some old deadening and I'm not sure how spotless I got that.
ОтветитьIf you utilise dodo sound deadening, plus the thermo pro plus fleece - do you need any additional vapour barrier?
ОтветитьThe only vlogs showing dodo thermo liner pro are advertisements for dodo products..
Says it all
Hey, great videos by the way really helpful for me as I'm just about to convert my crafter into an all season camper. Does the silver backing act as a radiant barrier and moisture barrier so you can just put ply over the top?
I've watched another video from someone else where they said to add a gap of about an inch between ply and insulation to allow air flow?
The van owner has put way too much sound deadening on. Complete overkill!
Ответить@Combe Valley Campers Hi, thanks for all your fantastic videos, so helpful. I have some of this liner to line the walls and ceiling of my sprinter conversion. I have already put some sound deadening mat, now want to put this and then the bottle fleece as you suggest. In the sprinter though there are some areas, vertical struts?, where it will be impossible to get this into as only tiny holes. If I don't put it in here will that negate being a vapour barrier? Does a vapour barrier have to be non stop, all seems raped etc? Or can I put this in all the places I can and then just stuff bottle fleece into the area where I can't? Cheers Beccy
ОтветитьI got some dodo thermo insulation this week, it had brown paper on the back, instead of the plastic looking white paper he's peeling off. It's way more annoying to peel off because it rips easily and you then have to pull each little fiddly bit off. Adds way more time to the process. Look out for that
ОтветитьSpent a lot of the weekend I stalling sound deadening and the thermo liner pro on a SWB T5. 10m is just shy of the full job when doing the full back doors with no window. I need to find enough for the sliding door and opposite side bottom so about 12m would be perfect when doing the roof too. Haven’t touched the cab area yet either.
ОтветитьRoughly how much insulation & sound deadening would we need for our Ford Transit Custom? Cheers guys!
ОтветитьIs this stuff any good to use as a floor liner?
ОтветитьHi Leigh, would the 10mm thermo liner pro be suitable for floor insulation in a T5 camper? A lot of products seem to be out of stock at the moment but the thermo liner pro is available.
ОтветитьHi, can I just put this straight on the roof with the 2mm sound deadening below, then put on the headliner, or would it be better with fleece as a last layer too? I have bought all 3.
ОтветитьAfter Brexit, have you already shipped these products abroad ?
I might consider this, when start restoring my van.
So how would you finish off the fleece? Can I just as well first put the fleece and then put the thermo liner?
Meanwhile scrolling if you have something about euro6, how you connect everything, ignition, wiring... I will have a Renault tho...
This looks like a great product.
I assume it will be exactly the same for a T4???
a blunt trim tool is good for getting all types of under carpet material in those gaps
ОтветитьLooking to do our T25 high top soundproofing and insulation what products would you suggest for side, roof and floor? Can we use these on the high top sides and roof as well?
ОтветитьHow significant is this compared to 2mm sound deadening + fleece only?
ОтветитьWould you still recommend using the 2MM sound deadening on the pannels first or could you just use this on it's own? Many thanks.
ОтветитьAny reason why you peel off the backing top to bottom as opposed to lengthways?
ОтветитьIt’s funny watching you guys all rugged up doing the insulation.
I live in the tropics in Australia, & my old van is insulated to keep the heat out as we regularly travel through the outback in the 40s.
I love watching your videos 👍
I would like to if that product can be used on fiberglass
