Alexander Sverdlov. Modernisms: Between Fatigue and Resilience
Alexander Sverdlov is a founding partner of SVESMI, a Rotterdambased agency for architecture, urbanism, and cultural programing. Recently, he has been involved in the reformation of the Moscow library system. He previously worked as an architect and project leader on largescale public buildings at the Dutch offices of Neutelings Riedijk architects, West 8, Architecten Cie, and OMA. Sverdlov has taught, lectured, and served on juries at various schools across Europe. In recent years, he has won several awards in international competitions. He was a cocurator of and contributor to the project Shrinking Cities by the German Cultural Foundation, as well as a contributor to the International Biennale Rotterdam.
